I had the same symptoms as Sharon, however, I was only 3 weeks pregnant and didn't even know it. My tube ruptured and I was in surgery that same day. They had to remove my right tube, which, in turn, makes getting pregnant again risky. If you are questioning something going on, be sure not to wait. They can test you because this really is life threatening. I hemmorhaged internally, which also is very dangerous. Definitely get checked out.

If you are worried about ectopic pregnancy, I would advise you to see your doctor as fast as you can, because if you have ectopic and waiting until your next appointment,maybe, that might be too late,the fallopia tube might rupture leaving you only one. I had ectopic before,when I had it, I had vaginal bleeding, but the blood was sort of brown, together with most of the things said here, but the biggest sympton was my instinct telling me something was not right, so follow your instinct but go see your dcotor.

hi i had a ectopic pregnancy in july last year, my symptoms were not to bad, i had slight pain in my right side (this was to tube my pregnancy was in) and was slightly bleeding, it was normal blood colour it was like a brownish colour, thats all the symptoms i had, if i was u i would get it checked out as soon as possible, as the quicker u find out the better, i had the methotraxate needle first to try and brake the pregnancy up, but didnt work, so buy that time it was to late to give me the next dose, i got rushed down for emergency surgery to have my right tube out, i was really upset when i found out about ectopic and especially having to have my tube out, it was really hard,

I had an ectopic pregnancy 8 1/2 or 9 years ago. I had no clue I was pregnant and only went to the doctor because I had been bleeding heavily for over three weeks. I was also in extreme pain in my right side, but by the time I went to the doctor I had gotten used to the pain (my periods always brought on horrible cramps anyway). When I did get to the doctor and they discovered I was pregnant, I was sent to another clinic/hospital that could handle how far everything had gotten. I was rushed into surgery. The ob/gyn was unable to save my right tube; the baby was stuck inside and it almost burst. I do have some interesting pictures, however.

I have a history of miscarriages and now an inability to get pregnancy (not because of the ectopic). If you think something might be wrong, go in right away. It's better to be on the safe side. At the time of my ectopic, I was in my early 20s and afraid I was imagining things. I can tell you now that if I was to bleed even close to over a week I'd be at the doctor, and I would never wait over three weeks like I did back then.

I had an ectopic 4 years ago, my levels kept going up but going up slowly, before the final diagnosis it went from being miscarriage to ectopic to normal to miscarriage, ectopic, miscarriage, ectopic. While all this was going on they did both internal and external scans but could not see anything, then on the 10th day they did another internal scan and saw free fluid, it was here that I was sent to hospital where they removed it that night, it had grown to the size of a 20 cent piece and I lost my tube.

The whole time this was going on it felt just like my pregnancies since all this, the only difference is that the night before I got the final diagnosis i was in severe pain, I did not go to hospital when I should of - I was not aware at the time that it is life threatening so to everyone ectopics can be very hard to diagnos, if you feel anything out of the ordinary with your pregnancy get it seen to sooner rather than later ALWAYS GO TO THE DOCTOR A.S.A.P

I'm a nurse who had an ectopic pregnancy many years ago and I still remember the pain. It felt like a pocket of gas in my lower abdomen, on one side. The pain varied in intensity. Some days all I could do was curl up in a ball.



It took 2 mos for it to be correctly diagnosed even though I self-diagnosed it! Doctors pooh-poohed my diagnosis. It took 5 trips to different hospitals and doctors before it was diagnosed. I had a partial rupture. So, like the other writers, my advice is to get to an ER ASAP. A rupture can be fatal.

I had a tubal pregnancy 3 yrs ago and it showed on a pregnancy test the same as all my other 4 pregnancies did. I was only 2 wks along when I found out and at 6 wks I started bleeding (which I have never done before) and went to the ER and they couldn't find anything wrong so they sent me home. 2 days later I started have cramps in my right side. Went back to the ER and again they sent me home. The next evening while I was making dinner and had such sharp pain in my right side that it seriously knocked me over. Thankfuly my husband rushed me to the ER and they finally found the tubal and thankfully before anything happened.

thanks everyone for the responses. The doctor squeezed me in today before he went on holidays. Had blood tests done, and just waiting on results to decide the next step. Though the ache has subsided a little and the bleeding is getting heavier, so doc thinks it may be a miscarriage. Hopefully will know soon enough.

Constant ache/pain on the one side
Spotting and it is a darker brown
The feeling of needing to urinate often but not a lot of urine actually passes
Inability to pass a stool and/or great relief when you do. The growing tube can cause pressure on the bowels and even block them
I agree with all others and see a Dr. ASAP, if the pain is unbearable request and ultrasound don't simply rely on blood tests for the hCG levels. If it is diagonosed early enough your fallopian tube could be salavaged.

I had an ectopic pregnancy. I felt horribly constipated and had bad pain in right shoulder- they call it referral pain. I lost control and peed myself. I lost so much blood internally I almost died. Don't wait too long if you are having these symptoms!

I had one 7 years ago which has left my left tube not working. The symptoms I had were: not feeling pregnant ( in general) I also had a very hard time having a BM, sounds crazy but the way you sit on the toliet would cause extreme pain. Then I started bleeding, it wasn't real heavy. they tested for hcg, and you levels should double every day for the first so many weeks ( i don't know the exact) We did a vaginal ultrasound and nothing was found in my uterus and my dumb doctor said " oh you passed it" and left. Well I had to come back in for blood work and my levels were still going up but not like they should be. I was scheduled to see the radiologist, when my tube ruptured. It was not bad at first, felt like I was constipated, but then the pain got horrible. It was a 45 minute drive to the hospital I really thought I was not going to make it. I got to the clinic they gave me a shot of something really good, but then when they did an ultrasound I was bleeding inside so bad, that had i gone home and went to bed, I would have died.

You need to contact your doctor if you haven't already, I also remember the pain in the beginning not being constant.

Hey Angela.

I've had two ectopic pregnancies. The first ruptured, and was very painful. The second was diagnosed slightly quicker and didn't rupture. The pregnancy hormone that is detected in your urine does not increase as much if your pregnancy is in the tube, and therefore some pregnancy tests can't detect the pregnancy as you don't produce enough of the hormone. Other symptons include dizzines, pain in side, and severe abdominal pain if it ruptures.

I would suggest you see a doctor as soon as possible. Ectopic pregnancies are life threatening if not caught within the first 7-8 weeks. There are lots of ways of treating the EP now, but the longer you leave it, the more likely you are to permanatly damage your tube, and halve the chances of falling pregnant again.

I have been through it. Mine had ruptured so I felt very unwell, had cramps, dizziness, shoulder pain (in my right shoulder), movement caused me great pain and I'd pass out. If you think you have an ectopic pregnancy, go straight to Dr or ER. You can die from it...I almost did.

If you are worried about an ectopic pregnancy you should go to the ER.

I've not had one, but here's what I found out:



In the first few weeks, an ectopic pregnancy usually causes the same symptoms as a normal pregnancy, such as a missed menstrual period, fatigue, nausea, and sore breasts.



The key signs of an ectopic pregnancy are:

* Pelvic or belly pain. It may be sharp on one side at first and then spread through your belly. It may be worse when you move or strain.

* Vaginal bleeding.



How is an ectopic pregnancy diagnosed?

A urine test can show if you are pregnant. To find out if you have an ectopic pregnancy, your doctor will likely do:

* A pelvic exam to check the size of your uterus and feel for growths or tenderness in your belly.

* A blood test that checks the level of the pregnancy hormone (hCG). This test is repeated 2 days later. During early pregnancy, the level of this hormone doubles every 2 days. Low levels suggest a problem, such as ectopic pregnancy.

* An ultrasound. This test can show pictures of what is inside your belly. With ultrasound, a doctor can usually see a pregnancy in the uterus 6 weeks after your last menstrual period.







Please, if you know you are pregnant and you are feeling pain GO TO THE DOCTOR!
