my first labour was the longest by far the longest at seventeen hours, i went in thinkingno drugs for me but in the end i had the gas , pethadene, which did nothing for me and then had to have epiduraul causei coulndt do it all on my own, the next three labours were 31/2 hrs start to finish and my 5th was induced 1hr 30min, yes i was lucky that i didnt have any complications was not sick on any of them loved being pregnant till the birth but the after the little bundel makes it worth while

DD #1 I was induced and from first pain until i held her was 12 hours and 50 minutes..I hurt like hell the entire time b/c pains were real strong and real close together...I pushed for over an hour and ended with an episotomy because she got stuck and I was not tearing or anything... DD #2 I went into labor on my own and was in labor for 17 hours and 22 minutes, from first pain until I was holding her...I stayed at home for the most part of that one and slept through the most part of it waking up every once in a while to time contractions and then go back to sleep....I barely made it to the hospital to have her..by the time I got there the pains were only 2 minutes apart...I pushed about six times and she was born...I am 37 weeks now and I hope that this labor is as easy as my second one was even though it was longer it was so much easier....Good Luck!

With my first I was in labor for 2 days, with my second most of the day, with my third he was so big I had a c-section, which I slept through I guess.

you cant actually know until you go into labor and have the baby, everyones body is different, with having 4 kids, that was a myth, the more kids you have the easier and shorter the labor (NOT EXACTLY TRUE)

Every woman and every pregnancy and birth are all different. I had no real problems with any and did all natural except the first the nurses were anoid with me and gave me the epideral and stopped my labor and was then induced. I didn't know much first time just wanted to use washroom and they wouldn't let me and when shift change came it was much easier. I had a girl first and with all of my pregnancies I don't remember any real long labor. I was never really stressed and it seemed easier. Son 2nd some back labor but nothing really long. Then twin girls was induced at 41 weeks only on drip for not even 4 hours and girl last had to have c-section. Relax and everything should be great.

All 4 of my deliveries took under 5 hours. Of course each pregnancy and subsequent delivery are different but, in the end, the pain is totally worth it!

Mine got quicker each time, first about 7 hours, second 3 and the third 1. The thing is the quicker it is the more painfull as you body doesn't have time to build up the natural pain killers, so longer is not such a bad thing!!

I think all deliveries are as individual as the babies themselves .
My first (my only girl) arrived in 2 hours 11mins from 1st contraction to holding her in my arms. Second pregnancy I was scared I would deliver quicker but was in labour 15 hours before medical staff decided baby was stuck and I had to have an unplanned C section. Baby number 3 arrived after a difficult 7 hours , then due to complications baby number 4 arrived by planned C section - which was in a way quite nice because I felt more in control knowing where & when everything would happen ,and was awake the whole time but felt no pain .
In the end , as long as you & baby are safe & well I think you just go along with whatever happens & accept medical advice & help if needed. Our bodies are much stronger than we think and we forget "most" !! of the pain when we hold our precious little ones .

I've had a few children and the labor, like the children are all very different. I would say that my third birth was easier that the 2nd. However, the last two were harder labor, but quicker births. They are all a blessing from God - enjoy!

I am also pregnant with my third child. I can understand your nervousness about the delivery! However, as many have said, each birth is different. There are things that you can do to prepare for the delivery, though, like eating well, doing kegel excercises, and making sure that you are comfortable with your doctor and hospital. Good luck to you, and I hope you enjoy dreaming of your little one soon to come!

Unfortunately I can't give you any wonderful words about labor because each woman's body is different. My first was 32 hours of labour, my second was only 8 (the quickest), my third had to be induced and I labored for 8 hours but this resulted in an emergency C-section as he almost died. My last child was a planned C-section, so no labor there.



It is usually our fears that make our bodies not respond right to anything. It was my own fear that caused a planned C-section with my last child. I would encourage you relax and enjoy being pregant...live in the now. Delivery is 8 months away and you can't enjoy the now if you are living with your mind in the future. All 3 of mine were fast & easy. I loved my epidural - it was on a drip and they didn't stop it until labor was over or obviously nearly over.

my third labor was the same as my second 4 hours of labor and 5 pushes and he was out i did it all natural and i have 4 kids and all were natural its rough but great

with my first, my water sprang a leak, for lack of a better term, but i did not go into labor, they put me on the drip a day and a half later along with an epidural for my blood pressure and she was born 4 and a half hours later, deliverd in about 6 pushes by the nurse. she was 13 days early. with my secound i was uncomfertable around suppertime, but didn't clue in that i might be in labour for another 3 hrs. she was born 3 hours later in a drug free birth, 3 days early, this time the doctor on call made it. my third was a nurse delivery.i had been feeling contractions every night for a week while puting my older girls to bed, but they would just go away after an hour or so. then finally after she was 3 days over due, i put the girls to bed, came down, did the dishes tidied up, relaxed for a bit, went to bed and realized that they never stopped that night. we called a sitter and headed for the hospital around 12:30am. she was born at 4:30am i asked if i could push, the nurse said yes and i felt my body take over and push twice. every birth and every woman is different, best of luck!

My first boy was 39 hours, induced, had the epidural but it only worked on one side, so it was just awful, pushed for 2 1/2 hours, almost had a c-section, but luckily I didn't. With my 2nd I labored at home all day and went to the hospital in the evening, they gave me nubain to take the edge off and he was born within a couple of hours with only about 15 minutes of pushing. Baby boy #3 came 11 years later and I had just a short labor at home, with hardly any pain, got to the hospital, my water broke and he was born within an hour, no meds and basically no pushing, he just shot right out! Although I wouldn't necessarily recommend going without drugs, it was the worst pain ever, but didn't really get too bad until about the last 10 minutes or so. I'm glad I did it that way. Good luck to you! Oh, and keep moving, I think this is the most important thing for getting the labor going.

My 3rd seemed to go on for days as i hd to get induced but after i finally got m waters broke it was a case of trying to get a sleep and when i woke up i told my hubby i had to push and he ran for the midwife, 2 mins later baby sophie was here. All in it was the easiest labour and as they saying goes u always forget the pain once baby is on ur chest - best feeling ever

I had twins my first pregnancy and that was the hardest it took all day, my second was a little easier and by the third I got to the hospital just in time to get my epidureal! But my water never broke on it's own with any of my pregnancies. Stop worring you have been through this before and you will be fine, and besides it is always worth it in the end!! Good Luck!

my 3rd was alot faster than my 2nd , 2nd baby was 61/2 hours , 3rd baby was 2hours in labour 3mins pushing . im hoping my 4th will be this quick .
my babys were over due and i didnt get started off.

i have 5 children and my first was 12 hours my second was 17 hours my third was 11 hours my fourth was 4 hours and my last one was an hour in a half and now i am pregnant with number 6 and i dont think i will make it to hospital i wasnt even in hard labor when the last one was born i was cramping and my back hurt so i went to hospital to see if they would give me something for the pain so i could sleep the monitor wasnt even picking up contractions at all even right before i pushed him out

hi, its different with each one, my first was natural 6 hours, 2nd induced 4hrs, 3rd 15 min natural, 4th 7.5 hrs induced and 5th 1.5 hrs natural. 3 where late, 1 was on due date and 1 induced early due to problems, so each child is differnt each labour differnt.

my first was 7 1/2 hrs but she was back to back, cord round her neck and had to have the ventouse and be cut!!! 2nd she was 3 hrs and easy although the contractions were very strong and off the scales!! third well i just managed to get to the hospital and he was born 15 minutes later, he had very broad shoulders but all of them were natural births. everybody is different, just go with it and see what happens. good luck and enjoy your pregnancy.

My first was 38hrs with 8hrs of pushing, the doctor then realised he was stuck and used forceps! My second was 6 1/2hrs and 4 contractions with pushing and she was out ( i stood nearly the entire labour and delivered her standing up!). My third I was induced and had a total of 2hrs 15mins with 3 contractions of pushing and she was out! Everyone says it usually gets easier with each labour, but everyone is different! Good Luck, don't stress just yet, you'll be worried for a long time if you start now!!!!!

My 3rd was the best out of 5. I labor long, but had a 28 hr labor with her, which made me happy, and only pushed for 7 minutes. First 2 went days of hard labor (under 5 min between ctx). I felt great after my third right away, and I had no complications. My favorite birth of all of them.

My first labor took all but 5 minutes to do (although come to find out I was in labor with him for 12 hours...but I thought it was just a lot of cramping from my MIA period....cuz I didn't know I was pregnant with him). My second labor was 5 hours long..and as soon as I was 10 cm dialated...it's like she was in some type of rush to come out. My third labor was 2 1/2 hours long. Very quick...no time for messing around. And my fourth labor...it was an hour and a half. For some women...your body gets so used to it that it wants the pain and agony to be over as soon as possible. But then again it really all depends ya know. Some women are different than others. My 3rd and 4th were the fastest. 3rd was only 5 hrs. Don't be scared, sounds like you have been thru the worst. My first labor was 13 hrs.

My first labor was 17 1/2 hours and I tried very hard not to get an epidural. Finally at 15 hours into it I gave in, but that was after way too much suffering. It completely wore my body out. With my second I got the epidural right a way and did not feel one contraction. I was very comfortable for the whole thin and very much enjoyed the birth. It wasn't traumatizing like the first. I'm planning on getting the epidural right away When I give birth in may. I feel that it is better for me to be able to enjoy my baby's birth. I'm not scared of giving birth this time at all.
