I put my daughter in her bed room actually at four and half months. I had asked my dr & that's what he said.

Our daughter slept in her own room from day 1 - I just turned the monitor up so that I could hear her lullabies we had playing - if I could hear those, I could hear any noise she made.

As for Cot Death or SIDS, there is no warning that you would hear by having a baby in your room versus their own room.

Its completely up to you. The sooner the better really. My son didn't go into his room until 3 months... My daughter went out of our room as soon as she stopped feeding every 2-3 hours...Just don't put anything in the crib that might harm or suffocate your baby and they should be fine.

at 6 months they no longer need to eat during the night breast fed or bottled fed babies. So that is when i made the move.

my younger son and daughter were in their own room at about 6 weeks. but their naps were done in their room, in the crib so they were used to it. also, all of my kids were sleeping through the night at about 6 weeks. but that is not necessary, so long as you can hear them if they need you.

With my babies, I simply refused to put my son in bed with me. My Aunt made the mistake of putting one of my cousin's in bed with her and my Uncle when he was a baby. To this day, he is 11 years old and STILL sleeps in bed with them. Since, they have split, but he sleeps in between my Uncle and his Fiance' and still sleeps with my Aunt at her house in her bed, throwing her boyfriend into the living room on the couch or the guest bed. It's scary to think about.

I am not saying all babies are going to be like this, but it is something to think about.

When our Daughter was born, she started by wanting to sleep in her carseat. She liked the closeness and the confinement that the carseat allowed. When my Husband left to meet his Ship for a Cruise, I did put Jaelyn in bed with me. He started warning me (as he has seen how it is with my little cousin) and telling me to have her out of the bed by the time he got home. I put her in her crib at about 5 months and she started sleeping through the night in there.

I say the sooner, the better. It's all up to the parents, in the end. :)

It depends on if they sleep through the night and if you will be able to hear them on the baby monitor. My daughter was in her own room by 3 months because I am a light sleeper and knew I would hear her.

My kids had their own room from the day they were born.
The earlier the better!

We let our son sleep in the cradle in our room until he was 3 months old. Then we moved him into his own room and into his crib. We were lucky though, because our son started sleeping through the night at 6 weeks, so it made the transition much easier. Regardless though, your baby should be in his or her own room at about 3 months.
