wat do u have too take too the hospital?
Chap stick, comfy clothes & ones to go home in, a couple cute baby outfits, your pillow from home because the hospital ones are crappy, a nursing boppy pillow, and you basic makeup & tooth brush type of stuff. I also suggest gum, some of your own snacks, and pony tail holders. Of course don't forget your camera!

I took a lot of things to the hospital that I didn't even use. However the things I did take that I used were pads, toothbrush, toothpaste, bath towel, hair brush, an elastic band, something to hold back my bangs, my own toilet paper and an extra set of clothes. I just wore a Johnny shirt the entire time I was there. I found it more comfortable. I also took some baby clothes too.

most people have good packing ideas. I just have to emphasis taking your own soft toilet paper. no one told me this and I wish they would have. I didn't have a tear or stitch down yonder but it's still tender! good luck. watch out for crazy ass nurses. not all of them are just some!
One tiny stoopid thing I wished for in the hospital was a pair of scissors! A little pair of manicure scissors would have been just fine... it's just that there were new clothes with the tags still on them, and I asked a nurse for a pair of scissors. She said, "sure, I'll bring you a pair." and I never saw her again.
There were three hospital bracelets on me, and two on the baby. I wanted to cut the extra tags that were hanging off of them. They were scratching me and the baby. "sure, I'll bring you a pair." and I never saw HER again EITHER!
When I was given the paper to order copies of the hospital's baby announcements, they wanted me to fill out one corner, cut it out and turn that in. I couldn't cut the order coupon out... I had no scissors. I had to chew it off with my teeth.. then they couldn't read it.. the ink had run. OK, that was an exaggeration, but still, I had to rip it off crooked. I wanted for a pair of scissors over and over again.
I also wouldn't use the toilet paper either. You could see the wood chips in it.. and my monkey said no MA'AM. I used baby wipes that first few days.
If you plan to breastfeed, you are going to be HUNGRY constantly. I had the baby at 9:30 at night and they didn't offer me a meal until 8am the next morning. At maybe 1am I had to send someone out to get me FOOD. I suggest you take a BUNCH of snacks.
And throw a disposable camera in there, even if you have a digital. Our camera failed after the first precious four or five pictures. Hubby had to go down to the gift shop and buy a $15.00 disposable we could have gotten for $5 at walmart.
May the nurses all be nice, may the labor be short and may the wind be at your back:) Best of luck to you, I'm praying for you and your family!

I agree with Katie, that is a close list of what I brought also. I hate hospital gowns so I brough jammies/ sweats to wear while family visited. I was happier on my own clothes! but the list she complied what close to what I brought and yes we used 98% of it. I also packed my laptop :) I got the overnight pads they worked great andyes old underwear. they provide you with pads and diapers but if you really would check the bill, you are charged for them. I used the hosptial, some people prefer not to. I planned to bring a fan a lot also but our hospital has them in the rooms. Oh and my own pillow!!!

wow! i just got done making a list for me. lol. here is what i got.. i might be over exaggerating but here is my list: shorts/pants/pjs (whichever you prefer and pack extra in case you bleed through, not to be graphic), shirts, bras, underwear (pack extra bc you never know if you will mess those up, might want to buy a cheap pack so you wont ruin your favorite underwear), socks, slippers, robe, nursing gown, cheap pair of shower shoes (hospital showers to me are gross), something to do like an ipod/charger, crossword puzzles, breastfeeding book (if you plan on breastfeeding),a little notepad (bc hospital gives you lots of info), phone/charger, camara/charger, hospital folder with all important documents including numbers to call the family and friends, large trash bag/ towel (for the trip to the hospital so you dont get the seat nasty), gum (some kind of breathe mints), food (jello, sandwiches, candy, pop something to snack on in the hospital for the partner and you after birth: cafeteria might not be open), toiletries: toothbrush/toothpaste, hairbrush, shampoo/bodywash, hairspray/ hair ties/bobby pins, pads, contacts/contact solution/case, glasses, lip balm, makeup (i like to look nice for photos), deoderant, breast pads/lansinoh cream (if you plan on breastfeeding) (maybe a breast pump), roll of toilet paper (the hospitals is soo painful), money for vending machine, Whatever the partner needs....clothes, etc
For the baby: going home outfits in two different sizes (never know the baby's weight), onesies (if you are going to dress the baby up while being in the hospital) blanket/receiving blanket (to take the baby home in),hand mittons (so the baby doesnt scratch their face), bootsies, diaper bag, baby book, car seat/head support/car seat cover (if its going to be cold outside), and a hat.
i might be overexaggerating but i packed all this with my first son and i used everything. I would rather have overpacked then underpacked =] Hope this helps =] Good luck and congrats to your new baby!!
p.s. i would also pick out a pediatrician for your baby before you go into labor bc my hospital wouldnt let me leave inless i had one picked out. Also have the insurance number to add the baby when he/she is born. Might want to find out what the hospital provides too. That might make your list shorter. But all my items fit into a duffel bag.

the hospital will provide you with pads & diapers, so dont waste your money by bringing your own. comfy PJs & a tank top (1.so you can break feed easier. 2. nurses can do whatever EKG stuff they need to do) baby clothes, socks & hand mittens so they dont scratch their little face. PJs for your man , if he'll be staying at the hospital next to you. camera, underwear, shorts (after birth, you'll prolly be sweating ur ass off) and dont forget to have the carseat already in your car =)
If you wanna get crazy- prepared, i got half the ideas from here:
