My Daughter-in-law asked me to be part of her circle, but I don't see a section for grandmas. Am I missing something? Or is there an entirely different circle.

We have two BIOLOGICAL grandchildren......and many, many more "ADOPTED" grandchildren. I am sure there are others out there with this situation. Always wanted to be the koolaid house when our kids were growing up, and that happened. Well, now we are definitely the koolaid house with many kids from the neighborhood and children of our adult childrens friends. It can be pretty busy some times, but AWESOME!

I'm a mother and a Nonna. My children range in age from 29 to 13. I have 3 boys and 1 girl. My oldest son and his wife have an 18 month old daughter and a 10 week old son. I'm caught in the middle. I also teach Pre-Kindergarten for developmentally delayed 3 and 4 year olds. Just to let you know, there are many grandparents raising or helping to raise their grandchildren in today's society. I see this every year with my students. I will have at least 3 or more out of twenty families that have sole support of grandparents and others that have partial support. There are several factors, but you are not alone.

Count me in too. How will we find out when they start a Grammy section. I'm a young grammy of 2. I quit my job so I can watch the kids while my daughter & husband work. I really could use the extra income but would rather make sacrifices for myself then sacrifice the grandbabies by having them go to strangers. Being grammy is the BEST!

somehow we all need to find a time for grandparents with grandchildren to get together and have time to talk like a organization to help us all

Thanks for asking this question. I am a Grandma, too, of 4, Step-grandson: Dustin 9, Grandson: Laine 4, Grandson: Kenny 2, Granddaughter Shyanne 1. I think we are just starting our own Circle. My daughter of Kenny, calls and asks me things all the time. I still call and ask my mom things all the time. Kudoos to all of the Grandmas & Grandpas out there that are helping to raise their grandkids. Lots of love and respect goes out to you; you deserve all the love & support you can get!!!

Good idea. I work with young Moms, but I am now a young grandma, too. Lots of us Grandmas are helping raise our grandchildren and need all the support we can get.

I'm all for a Gma section, I have 7 of the little darlings and am very active in their lives.
Don't quite fit in to the "Moms" section. Also agree with Moms of Moms with Children, that works, too

Lin was right. If you click on "communities" and then click on "all communities",then type in "grandmas",there are a few groups for them. I just joined "Circle of Grandmas." Come on all you "mamas" (as my grandkids call me) join up! :)

I am a grandma of 10,ages 2 weeks to 17 years old. I ,too,think we should have a grandma section. We're just as involved in our grandkids lives as the parents sometimes. And I know I love each and everyone of them as much as any grandparent could. Any ideas anyone?

There are quite a few communities for Grandmas. Just search for grandma.
(Since there's a lot of stuff on here, here's how to do it: Move your mouse pointer over Communities and click on All Communities. Under the blue "Featured Communities" Bar type in grandma, there will be a "searching" bar -or whatever its called - until about 22 communities pop up in place of the "searching" bar.)
