Hi everyone
I have had a few problems with my 3yr old having level 2 swimming lessons at our local pool. The most recent one was she was left in middle of pool with no belt and floats as there were big for her to put under her arms. She goes in the pool by herself and has no fear of water.There is 8 in her class and just wondered what people 's opinions were xx

Here in Australia where I live, there are only 3-4 per class for that age group. 6 has been the maximum in the classes for 5-6 year olds. 8 seems like an awful lot for 3 year olds.

i think that 4 or 5 is a good age to start and the classes should be kept to 5-6 kids at that age

Thanks everyone for helpin me out.I think as my older two aged 7 & 6 have been havin swimming lessons i thought it wasa good idea for my 3 yr old to have them.But when they took her belt off i couldn't believe it as my 6yr old is in the same level, different instuctor & she has just been taking floats off his belt to work him into no belt.Totally shocked at my 3 yr old havin no belt. i have been taking her to pool on an afternoon to try and encourage her to swim across the pool with just her belt as she does struggle, but she is good at everythin else.I think at this age she just wants to play and have fun so i will be goin to the pool to cancel her lessons :)

Wow 8 kids seems like a lot of kids. My 3 year old son is in swim lessons at out local Aqua Tots and there are only 4 in one class. He gets a lot more one on one time and and is now in level 4. i would maybe try and find a class with less kids.

I don't think paying for swimming lessons is necessary. My kids have been in the pool since they were a few months old. I can teach my kids to swim and it is more personal one on one mommy time.

My oldest two I started swimming lessons at 3. My youngest is 5 and I haven't done them at all yet for him.

My kid and I did a Mommy and Me class when she was about 3 months and she has been in lessons since.
8 to 1 for a swim class of toddlers is more kids then I'd be comfortable with
I think it is wonderful she is getting lessons though - something like 70% of our palnet is water with more ice melting everyday. I think swim lessons are a good idea

Was she ok?
The age and the class size sound ok, but if you aren't happy w/ the class or she's having trouble.... it's not the right fit.

Hi , The size of the class sound good that's the same number of kids in my daughter's swimming class , I have abit of a problem knowing that If child was left in the middle of the pool with safety belt and floaties but I guess all kids are different and swimming have there own knowledge of swimming.Did at lease complain to the swimming teacher .Cheers
