Are you breastfeeding because if you are my dr told me it could take longer to get your 1st period after I stopped breastfeeding at 7 weeks and was told it could still be another 6-8 weeks before I got my period again.

I breastfed my daughter ( shes now 6 and a half months old) for 8 or 9 weeks then had to stop as she was born with Epstiens pearls ( calcium Deposits within her gums similar to milk teeth)

I bled from after the Emergency C-section I had till 5 and a half months later ....

I had the Implanon (contraceptive device inserted into your arm) put in at around 8 weeks after birth ....

As soon as I had it removed when my daughter was 5 and a half months the bleeding stoped and I had a period about a week later ....

Althought I havent bled since...Iv used this Implanon before when I was 17 till I was 19 (nearly 20) And I didnt hardly bled at all when it was in my arm ( they last for 3 yrs then you get them out or replaced) I had maybe (6) 4 day mini period over the nearly 3 years I had it in my arm  .......

1st Implanon was removed october/november 2007 I fell pregnant around 9 months later June/July 2008  & gave birth March 2009

2nd Implanon inserted in May 2009 Then Removed August/September 2009......

A lady at my church had quadruplets and got pregnant again a month later. She had a c-section when the quads were born so waiting 6 weeks wasn't necessary.

Waiting six weeks is necessary even with a c-section because of the fact you have had major abdominal surgery. When they cut into your abdomen and then your uterus, there is obviously a risk for infection, which can even occur from having sex because of the fact that all of your sexual organs are connected. Anyways, it is very possible to get pregnant that soon. That is why when you get an IUD placed after having a baby, they can put it in at your 6 week, but you have to take a pregnancy test since the possibility is there. But it is also possible that if you just haven't had your period yet, your body just hasn't adjusted back yet and it may take a little longer. But if you feel you are pregnant I would see a health care provider right away.

Not only shoudl she have waited the weeks, women who ahve c-sections are told to wait atleast 8 weeks to allow proper healing. They must be crazy for eachother and babies if they can't even wait for proper healing.

As far as I know.....you are extremely fertile up to 6 weeks after your baby is born. That is why the dr tells you to wait at least 6 weeks before having sex. I am thinking....you might want to get that e p t test!

Hi Jasmine no I didn't at 6 weeks but I did at 10weeks and it was our 4th child I was not very happy because my pregnancys were not easy. We were planning on getting a vesectomy soon after our 3rd was born But God had other plans for us and I would not change a thing. She is a blessing from God. I got my tubes tied ater she was born because I couldn't chance to have anymore that way anyway. We have adopted 3 more and trying for some more. "They say children are a blessing from God so be blessed and tret yourself good you are creating a new life.

GOOD QUESTION...But Im not exactly sure how quick you can get pregnant after your baby is born,Doctors usually say after 6 weeks because thats about how long it take for your uterus to go back to normal size and for your hormone levels to get back to regularity as well as your menstrual cycle.....But I have also heard from several doctors that if you breastfeed your newborn you lessen the likelihood of falling pregnant as your body produces a natual hormone that helps to keep you from geting pregnant again too soon,Its almost as though your body knows your already feeding and nurturing "One Baby" and wont allow you to produce another until you newborn is older ??? My cousin got pregnant again when her daughter was about 12+ weeks old..Her daughter and son are like 11 and a half months apart .

Actually, is it highly possible for this to occur. I have not experienced it myself, but have had several friends and co-workers that did exactly that, Your body is generally just starting to get back into the ovaluation cycle six weeks after the birth of a child. I suggest you follow up with your doctor if you think there is a possibility of you being pregnant so soon.
