Does the carset have to be in the middle or on the passengers side?

It will depend on the design of the truck. An airbag will negate the passenger seat. Middle may not be the best if there is a gearshift.

Go to your local firedepartment and ask for help, they're awesome!

as long as you can turn the airbag off, the passenger seat is fine. otherwise i'd say, as the previous poster did, go to your fire or police dept. they'll tell you where to put it, and they'll make sure it is installed properly as well!

Where I live (in Pennsylvania) I don't believe that there are any regulations as to where the car seat has to be placed, so long as it's in the back seat. The safest place is in the middle, and I think that holds true for a car as well as a single cab truck. Since it has to be in the front, you probably wouldn't want it directly in front of an airbag if you can help it.
