Any tips or suggestions for nasal congestion would be helpful. My 3 month old son gets nasal congestion pretty bad. It gets really worse at night. We have been using a humidifier and we suction his nose and use a saline spray in the middle of the night to clear him up some. But, it just seems like it just won't go away and it makes it hard for him to sleep at night sometimes.

Keep running the humidifier and put Vick's Baby Rub on his chest and feet. You can also use the saline drops several times during the day. I use to run a hot shower and let my son breathe in the steam. We would sit in the bathroom with the door closed for about 15 minutes before bedtime. They also make wedges that fit under the sheet and allow your child to sleep slightly elevated. That also helps the congestion.

He is only 3 months old so I would ask your doc. I know that dairy products make my kids really mucasey (is that even a word?) Are you breast feeding? If so maybe cut some of the dairy if not all out of your diet and take a calcium supplement.

Vick's makes a Baby Rub that can be used on infants 3 months and up. Rub that on his tummy, back and neck before he goes to sleep. You can also put Vick's Vapo Steam in the humidifier. Other than that it sounds like you're doing all you can. You can also elevate on end of the crib/bassinet. Or since he's so young you could have him sleep in his car seat or a bouncy set so that he's inclined. Just make sure he doesn't roll over in either of those.
