That is simple if you have a boy you should use pampers as the foam of the nappy is in front. huggies are best for girls because the foam goes up to the back its more absorbant.

I tried cloth diapering several times and each time my son got a rash on his privates that wouldn't go away for at least 2 weeks. I know they're more cost effective and easier on the environment, but at what cost to my baby?

Pampers Swaddlers were the best for newborns and didn't cause rashes or rub on baby. They're sooo soft. Huggies tabs were always deformed and I got whole diapers that were cut wrong.

Pampers. My son always pooped over the back of Huggies and Luvs fall apart and when they get full of pee, they disintegrate.

We have always used Pampers on the girls and Huggies on the boys when the kids were little. We now have our first grandson who stays with us primarily. He wore pampers swaddlers which were great for newborn and size 1's ( I bought them for 2.00 a pack at the hosp I worked at) then we switched to Huggies Supreme which I loved starting with size 2 and he is now in a 4. He also pees alot esp at night so to carry him from 8 or 9 pm when he goes down until 8 am we use the Huggies overnights. They are awesome and never leak! Fantastic! A bag of 30 ish overnight diapers usually runs 8.49 quite a deal. Then if you catch them on sale they come a bag of 54 for 12.99!

Then for those parents who use cheaper diapers during the daytime you could buy the Overnight Huggies for better nighttime coverage for a cheap price and not have to worry about leaky/ wet beds.

For 4 kids and now one grandchild we have found for girls Pampers fit them better, and for boys, Huggies fit them better. The padding seems to be better distributed for the sexes even though the box does not say so.

Huggies. They are great for leaks and hold a ton!

I Tried Pampers and Luvs. But didn't really like them. Pampers are very perfumed, I think. Maybe that's nice for the stinky poopies, but I much prefer my son's "baby smell." Luvs are generally cheaper, but he always peed out the top (less stretchy waistband). For the price/quality, Huggies has been a better deal for me. It really depends whether your child has any adverse reactions to the absorbing material.

Definitely sign up for the coupon books they mail to you at their website. I even got a "potty training DVD" (totally a commercial for pull ups, but has some neat songs, suggestions for training.)

I tried Huggies and found that once my son would pee, it would smell like pee. I would change his diaper only to find that the diaper was practically dry. I thought it was because he had strong urine but in asking around I found a lot of mothers had the same problem, so I switched to parents choice from Walmart, they worked great but my son was stuck between a size 2 and 3 so I tried Luvs, I havent had a single problem. I love them, they're cheap and they are lightly scented so he doesn't smell like pee right away. My son goes to bed at 6:30 pm and is up at 7 am and I don't have to change his diaper once during the night. I think that's a great deal. Pampers are great too, they're just significantly more expensive than Luvs and offer about the same leakage protection.

we started with huggies, went to white cloud which we loved, but they were discontinued, tried luvs, hated them, now were back to huggies!

[deleted account]

i actually find that the walmart ones leak less! in the name brand, if she had a blowout, it would seep out the diaper itself and not just the sides. maybe bc its softer so its more permeable or something (is permeable the word? hah)

anyways, they may not be AS comfy but theyre like half the price and money is tight. we do stick with the pampers wipes though.

our son is a very big boy. He was our first so we got all brands for the baby shower and got to try them all out. We much prefer Luvs. They are cheaper, and have never leaked for us. Pampers are nice and soft, but they leaked and huggies just never worked for us at all. I say if you have the luxury, try all types and make your decision that way.

For some reason,my three boys can only use Huggies Supreme(red Box),They can't even wear the regular huggies brand. They get a real bad rash if they do.So I would go with Huggies Supreme.

We started out with huggies for our son because that's what they used in the hospital. When we first got home we started using pampers because that's what we had bought. We ended up going back to the huggies because we had leakage with pampers. From my friends and family that I've talked to who have kids, most prefer to use huggies with the boys and pampers with the girls.

Had to start out with Pampers with all 3 boys, each of them up to a certain age were allergic to any other brand...the baby who is now 2 is transitioning into the easy ups. Likes Huggies but that was the only other brand we could ever use.

Quoting KAREN:

Medically, the diaper does'nt give you child a diaper rash!

Wrong!

The diapers contain a LOT of chemicals.  All the chemicals are what makes them supposedly smell better, and so absorbent.  It is entirely possible for a child to be allergic to any of those chemicals, and to react with contact dermatitis -- diaper rash.  This happens to many kids, really.

I use cloth and wouldn't have it any other way.  I sew all my own from organic fabrics when possible and wash in only soap nuts, which are completely natural, with low water levels.  I also dry outside sometimes.  Believe me -- it's MUCH better for the environment and I can diaper ALL my kids for $300 instead of spending $2000 each on disposables.

I used pampers on my son from day 1 and they were great, then used pampers on my girl til she was in the third size and found huggies are much better! I really think it all depends on the child and the shape of their body

I know they can be a little pricey...but I prefer Pampers...at least at night, the leak control is so much better then all the others...and with 5 kids, trust me I've tried ALL the others! During the day time when they get a little older (like early toddler) the generics are fine!
