I LOVE ALL Free & Clear and I also use Downy Free liquid fabric softener. I wash all of our clothes together and it really gets them clean. ALL is also quite cheap!

I used EOS brand (it's HE friendly) and just use an extra rinse.

I use whatever "free & clear" detergent is one sale. Works out well.

You can use anything that's free of unnatural dyes and chemicals. Most detergents these days will have a brand that says free of all those things.

We use liquid Tide Free with Bounce Free fabric softener sheets, on all the clothing in the house. I'm allergic to all the fragrances and dyes in laundry detergent and have been for years, but was washing my laundry separate from everyone else's. The last couple years our kids developed eczema and I was breaking out worse, even though nothing had changed. My allergy has worsened to the point where even having the fragrances/dyes in the same washer was causing a problem. The dermatologist recommended we use the same detergent I was already using for all the laundry in the household. We do, and it hasn't been a problem since.

i used dreft for my first child but found it to be too time consuming to seperate everything, and run to the laundry mat, running seperate cycles for everything (i was single & living in an apartment). i finally got tired of it and just put his clothes in with mine, and it was perfectly fine. i chose not to use it with my 2 other children and nothing happened to them. if you are still concerned with the baby sensitivity issue, All free and clear was recommended to me by my doctor for gyno problems i was having (tmi- i know) and it works well.
