Depends on the child's age. With little ones you do your usual bedtime routine, you kiss them goodnight, tuck them in with LOVING FORGIVENESS, and say a prayer that the next day will give you more patience and love to deal with the child.



For older ones you sit down and discuss the event(s) and how you were affected by it all. Come to an agreement or solution of the problem that caused the event and make it a win/win solution for all.



We really are NOT given more than we have the capacity to handle....even when it seems otherwise. Have FAITH and put it into action. The highest and best to you and yours.

Sometimes a Super B-Complex vitamin helps me. I realized that there are times when my mood effects the kids. Those seem to be the days when they won't stop picking at each other. I have to take a step back & ask myself "Are they really being that annoying or am I just in no mood to take it anymore?" If they are really being that annoying, I give myself a time-out. I make sure that they are safe & can't get into anything then I go out in the garage or outside where I can see in the window, but they can't see me then I pace, take a deep breath, and come up with a new game plan. Sometimes it is necessary to "Tickle the Meanies out" because how can they keep yelling when they are giggling? I also try to remind myself that they are good 90% of the day; it's just that 10% that is clouding over their good behavior. There are times when they are being naughty and they just need a hug and there are times when I am just being naughty and need one too. :)

Talk to a friend that's gets it. I call this venting enven if you have to talk to yourself many just dony get it.and some will some will hold it agaist you lateer

I found this site and thought of your blog question. Sometimes it is possible to intervene before it becomes a hard day. There are lots of these kind of things online. Of course, we have all been in the moment and thought to ourselves "play a game?!!! yeah, right."

I have a 5 year old boy, a 3 year old boy and a 5 month old girl. If the boys are being too noisy and it is nice outside I send them outside, I have a 6' fence all around with a lock. I crack the kitchen window so I can hear if they are hurt or what they are doing they usually stay out for at least 30 min to and hour. If it isn't good weather I do Quite time and if they cooperate then I give them a treat or tell them we can go play at the play area at the mall which they love.

I have a 2 year old and an 11 month old. On stressful days I just remember that I chose to have them in my life and I remember how much joy they've brought me since they arrived. For me, having hard days is much better than the alternative of not having children at all.



On super bad days it also helps me to remember that they have to take care of me when I'm old, senile and having bad days.

Every night I sit in the boys' room until they go to sleep, or at least one has. While I sit there I think of one thing that each of the boys have done during the day that made me smile. On a tough day, finding that one thing for each of them is a little harder, but it does help to take the focus off the negative a bit.

My mother's cure-all has always been the dishes. Get the dishes done and you have instant gratification on a completed chore - even if it is the only one you manage to get to in a day!

There is a few things that I do when my kids have me stressing, I have a 6 year old and 2 year old. I bump up bedtime, or at least enforce bedtime to the minute, no extra fun time!! Lately I use the treadmill when I'm really worked up, a hot shower works really well for relaxing too. Otherwise after the kids go to bed I turn on "mindless" television that doesn't require me to think and just unwind!

When it's late afternoon and Mr.Grumpy is in the house, sometimes I just say "forget it" about supper and we go outside and I sit and watch the clouds while my toddler goes and finds some rocks to throw or dirt to eat. Then my husband makes supper, I make porridge, or we go out.



Oh, and my husband takes care of the boy for the evening, just keeping him away from me and putting him to bed. That break helps enormously.

Pray for bedtime. Then I grab my Kindle, a glass of wine, and some scented candles and enjoy a bubble bath....not too much TMI, I hope, but sexing up their dad is usually next on that list. Can't beat the endorphins for a natural mood boost, lol!

Make a cup of tea, grab my book and a smoke. Make sure theres nothing my kid can get hurt on lyin around then go outside and read for a few minutes. If ur a non smoker do the same minus the smoke. Its amazing how much thoses 5-7 minutes of quiet a few times a day has l ur nerves!

No really, if I have time I try to do something that I enjoy doing for a bit. Even if it is just using Facebook or COM or watching a TV show I really like.
