my 11 year old daughter is starting to use dark makeup obviously i tell her she can do it in the house only this is day number 3 is it ok is this the way i should let her express herself hubby tells me to take it away but i think she is doing nothing wrong moms wat do yll think

well girly's i wanna thank u all for ur opinions i have set my mind to study each post with my husband and well we sat down with my daughter and had this long conversation about it being to much for her age and she was cool with it . so were the type that let our kids speak there minds as well so she has accepted that makeup is out the picture rite now but shaving her legs is in lol so now we agreed on that she is becoming a young lady soon =[ well once again moms thank u

She is only 11. Your hubby is right. Tell her when shes 13 she can use mascara only if she does not abuse it. the rest at 16. Keep you standards high and teach modesty. I've raised 2 girls and my last 2 are 10 and 12. They too have high standards for them selves.

Really it's up tot he parent and no one else to decide, I allowed my daughter to have lip gloss and some light shades of eye shadow at 12 when she was going into 7th gr. When she went to 8th gr. I allowed cover up and a lil mascara a couple months later i added a lil eye liner. But I make her earn it, she doesn't get it for nothing!!

Personally, I'm anti make up at that age. I've told my daughter MAYBE a little at 12-13, but more likely not until high school. At this point (almost 11) it's only nail polish and lip gloss.

Teach her how to put it on properly, tell her day makeup is supposed to be almost invisible then teach her how to put it on lightly so that it doesn't look trashy. This way she won't rebel and just put it on at school and look terrible. She is at the age where fitting in and looking cool is very important though I would not like my daughter to wear makeup at that age. If she wants to that is what I will do.

I personally am not a fan of young children using makeup that really shows. Maybe teach her how to use a little mascara, and lip gloss with a tint of color. Show her how to enhance her beauty with a natural look. In the house is fine for dress up, but going to school with heavy makeup, I am just not for at that young of an age.
