I haven't had this problem...........yet, lol, but my sister has a 4 year old little girl who is just a sweet heart but can have a bad attitude when she wants to and often won't listen to her mother, my sister tried the naughty chair but that was hopeless for her little girl but she did find using a rewards chart helpful she made up a pretty chart that her daughter helped make and she bought some star stickers and everytime tahnee did something helpful, nice or anything else good she got a star but when she did something naughty like not listening, screaming or just not doing what she is told she had a star taken off her chart which she just hated, lol, once she recieved 20 stars she got to pick a fun activity that they all did as a family it is usually something like go to the beach, lunch in the park, go to the cinema. It might not work for your kids but my sister thinks it works great it could be worth a try.

dont raise your voice-get down to their level and tell them what you need them to do in a stern voice..if they dont co-operate warn only once-they will go to the naughty chair step etc-1 min for each year of life. Return only after set time. If they come off the naughty area dont engage just return them. It worked every time for me, but mean business...another good tip is play with another of your kids and say '***** could play with us but he isnt listening..' good luck!

don't let them win, show them who is boss. pick him/her up and sit them on the couch and time them out and when they are ready to listen, explain to them that when you say something, he/she needs to listen or their will be consequences. And stick to it, ignore him/her if they sit there and scream, don't give in.
