It use to work because it had alchohol in it - in the UK they aren't allowed to do that anymore so now it doesn't really work.

AMAZING STUFF. Just a little while back my son would just cry and cry and nothing we would do helped him, I thought maybe he is having gas problems so I gave him some gripe water, and he was a little less fussy. The next day he had a massive poopy diaper and then he was all of a sudden back to his happy self.

we used it for our son when he had really bad gas, he found that it didn't work that well cause it was so bad, so our doctor told us to get milacon. it works wonders. we still use it for gassy tummy aches.

Gripe Water is a sodium bicarbonate which helps them work out any gas; soothes their tummy's when they have colic, hiccups, teething etc. Works WONDERS. When my son has troubles sleeping, I bring him downstairs, give him a little gripe water and wait about 20 mins. Then I know the burps etc will begin. I then get him ready for bed again and he's out like a light. I buy the one without alcohol, as giving a baby alcohol seems a little extreme (i know they use to years ago). You can always give your daughter gas drops with her feedings during the day and that would also help her at night.

HI Caitlyn, My daughter had colic problem and because of that she would spit up after every feeding and during evening hours she had Gas problems too.. Gripe water definatley helped her. You can make it at home by getting Fennel Seeds from Indian Grocery store. Take 1 tablespoon of fennel seeds and 5 oz of water. keep boiling until only 2 oz of water is left. Cool it down and store it in glass bottle. Give your daughter lil amounts regularly durning morning and evening hours.

and if you dont want to make it at home. You can buy one from Indian Grocery Store. I liked the Woodwards Gripe water. Do show it to your doctor. It helped my duaghter.. I know its so difficult to see your baby in pain. Hope this helps and Jules feel better soon.

gripe water was the best thing that ever happened to me...my son had bad colic and i would give it to him in the morning and at night and when he woke up in the middle of the night and it really helped. i dont know how i would have gotten any sleep without it. i go to babies r us and buy it and i buy the little tummies one...it is all natural.

hi yes i said it contained alcohol it was stopped in Ireland because it did contain it in the brand that was sold here,but i just googled it and your right there's many brands of gripe water some of which are 100% all natural like you moms were saying so just check the ingredients before buying.good luck;)

Gripe water is AMAZING! With our son who is 4 months old now, it works in the matter of seconds. If his stomach is upset or he is really cranky and we cannot get him to settle we give him some and it is crazy how fast it works with him but in seconds he calms right down. For a while we didnt even give him the full recommended dose we only gave him half and it still worked. We order it online its made by, Baby Bliss. We try and find the most natural things to give him when he needs things and Gripe water was our first choice. Hope this helps if you need more info let me know!!

Gripe water is for gassy babies & colic! Only if its that bad that your baby cries constantly! Otherwise they do get fussy when they have wind & some do tend to hold alot back even if you try and help them get it out :)

gripe water is not sold in Ireland anymore because it contains a small amount of alcohol.people here thought it was brilliant i didnt use it as it wasnt sold anymore when i had my first child and she had no gas problems. ...it relieves the discomfort from the gas.it was stopped being sold because i think people were giving there baby's a bit to much of it.small amounts in moderation its perfectly fine i would say and it does work.good look.:)

Gripe water is wonderful and really helped my daughter with gas and the colic. It is completely safe for them. It is a mixture of natural herbs like fennel and ginger. Everytime I gave it to my daughter within 5 to 10 minutes she had stopped crying and you could see the relief on her face. It is only about $12 a bottle and it is worth it!! Oh and it gets rid of hiccupps in about one minute also. Hope this helps!
