I agree with those who say, if you don't need one, he probably doesn't need one. Unless you're one of those people who wears shorts when there's snow on the ground!

Keep in mind though, that even if it's warm, it's a good idea to dress them in lightweight long pants and a long sleeved shirt, to prevent sunburn.

The best thing, if you're not sure if it's warm enough, is to dress him in layers. Then, if he seems too warm, just remove one layer. Better than being out and he's chilly and you have nothing to put on him!

I base it on if i am comfortable my son is too. Most people will say 1 more layer then you are ok in, but our son is a HOT little thing. So I usually dress him 1 layer less them me. Thats our rule of them and it works well.,...............for us!

Just think of it this way, if you are cold, baby is too. he might be a little more sensitive to cold than you, so if theres a little breeze, a sweat shirt is good... i say 65 or70 degrees is warm enough to not have one

If it's chilly to you, it's chilly to baby. I'd say if he's in a long sleeve shirt, you can omit the jacket when it's in the upper 60's.

The way my nurse explained it to me was to dress the baby in clothing like yours then add a blanket. So, if I'm wearing a T-shirt and jeans, I put my daughter in the same and add a sweater and some socks. If I am wearing a dress and it's hot out, I dress my daughter in a dress or skirt or shorts...just use your best judgment. You can tell if your baby is cold, their limbs get cold.

I agree with most of the other moms...babies need one more layer that you and if you are cold...baby probably is cold too!!! No matter what the temperature, I always keep an extra outfit in the trunk of my car for my daughter and I will always bring her a sweatshirt just to stay on the safe side.
