WHAT IS A REALLY GOOD BREAST PUMP?

From experience I can tell you that it depends on the person, really. I wish I could be of more help, but that's all I've gleaned from breastfeeding 2 children while going to school/work. I did have a lot of friends that let me borrow their pumps til I found one that worked with me. So far, my Ameda Purely Yours is my favorite. I get about a whole bottle (right now that's 4 oz) in one 20 minuet session. I've tried the Medela Pump in Style Advanced, the Avent Isis manual, Ameda Purely Yours and the Evenflo manual. And, like I said, I found one that got the most and stuck with that one. I hope you have friends that are willing to let you try their pumps so you can find one you like before plopping down a wad of cash on a pump that might or might not work. If not, you can try to find cheep ones on Craigslist or consignment shops, but some states don't allow the re-sale of pumps because they are considered single user items. It's mainly for health reasons, but there are closed systems like the Ameda pump I use that have no way for milk to get into the tubing or motors. If you really don't want to risk the milk getting into the tubing then I'd go with that one.
Anyway, I know I blathered more than helped but I hope that you at least got something from my post. Good luck!
