We've tried rocking his legs back and forth like riding a bike, rubbing his tummy, and a warm bath but nothing seems to work. I don't know what to do he seems like it hurts him, he wakes up cring and is always pushing like he is tring to poop but nothing happens.

My doctor told me to give my daughter kero syrup in her bottles.. it will help her poop better. and when she poops, i know this sounds gross, but the only thing i could do for my daughter when she could barely poop would be get some q-tips and some vasaline.. and help her by putting the tip of the q-tip in vasaline and coating her hole to make it easier for her

When my daughter was a baby, she had the same problem. Her doctor had me give her either prune juice or water with just a little sugar in it. That did the trick. Also, baby suppositories help.

If your baby is breastfed, it's completely normal to only go once every seven days. If it goes longer than that, then you should call your pediatrician.

Shalon....how old is your child first of all? If the child is still on a bottle, it could be the formula that you're using, I had the problem with both my children. I use Kyro syrum and I put 1 Tbsp in the bottle and shake it up and within 30 minutes it would move the bowel. Also you can stimulate the bum with Q-tip and some vasaline or A&D that way it will be a little easier for it to come out because it will be rock solid. If your child is on milk it could be the milk itself. I just went through this with my daughter, she would cry all the time, be constipated constanstly and I switched her milk. She is 1 and she was drinking whole milk (per doctor) and then switched to Lactaide and now I have no issues with her, her stomach cannot handle the whole milk. Good luck! I hope some of my pointers from experience helped you.

Apple juice worked for my little girl, and still helps when she can't go. Good luck I hope you can find somthing that works for you little one. Oh, when she was really little we would have to put vaseline on a thermometer and put it in her little bottom to help her go.

My husband is a chiropractor and he does (gently rubs) a reverse "C" on the babies abdomen. Good luck

Good luck!

Have you tried any apple juice, if that does not work you can buy over the counter stool softner. Try drinking more water also.
