I have been trying for a couple of years to get my son to stop sucking his thumb and am getting more frustrated that he won't quit. I filed for divorce about 5 months ago and wonder if this is just his way of coping, as in a self soother and should just let it be or should I continue my persistence with trying to get him to stop? Opinions?

STOP IT!! 4yr olds should not be sucking their thumb.. i would put hot sauce on it lol, thats how my grandma got us to stop biting our nails. i know a divorce is hard on a kid but if you let him get away with things like that.. you will always be doing it and you will always try to take it easy on him but thats not what a kid needs. kids need dicipline.. i have a friend who is going thru a divorce and she does not dicipline her kids because she feels bad and its turning her kids into monsters who dont have any respect towards anyone because they do what they want.. just somethin ta watch out for!
