I'm having a hard time firguring out my daughters nap needs right now. I know it changes often, but I'm curious when and how many naps your little one has if they are around 8 months old.

Usually 2 naps a day at this stage...

7am wake time...breastfeed by 7:30am, solids by 8am...nap at 10 (sometimes with a top up of milk at that time)....Breastfeed at 12:30...lunch at 1pm....nap at 2:30....milk at 5:30, dinner at 6....bedtime at 8pm....(breastfeed before bed)

I've been having the same problem with my 8 month old - he was on four naps a day not so long ago, and now its nearly impossible to get him to nap! Recently I've had days where he wont sleep at all, and often if he does its for only 1/2 and hour.:( I try to put him down at around 9.30/10 and 2.

My girl is up at 7am, has 7oz formula and a bit of fruit and cereal. At 9.30 she sleeps for 30 min. Lunch at 11.45. Nap from around 12.30 to 2.30. 6oz formula when she's properly awake (3pm-ish). Dinner solids at 5pm, 8oz formula at 6.30pm and to bed at 7pm. It may be worth trying to cut her morning nap to ensure a really good midday nap which should tide her over the afternoon. Good luck!

i jsut read your second post and to respond to that my daughter goes for 2 or 3 days straight where she will hardly sleep at all during the day and then will take 3 or 4 naps a day for another 2 days after that! it always is consistent with a growth spurt or teething!

my 7 month olds usual day is wake up around 8'ish...nap 2-3 hours later...then depending on what shes done in the day she will usually nap between 2 and 3pm then asleep between 9 and 11pm! i know its late for her to be up but im a stay at home mom and its the best schedule for me to also get the sleep i need! her naps can last between 30 minutes to 2 hours!

Okay this helps a lot... because her morning schedule is pretty much the same, but we're losing it after lunch. Not two weeks ago was she napping FOUR times a day. Lately, she doesn't want to nap and is staying awake for long stretches of time. It has been like night and day. Four naps one day and then the next she only slept once and hasn't slept that much since.

I'm going to try your schedules tomorrow and see if that helps! I keep trying to put her down early, since that is what she used to do, but she just wants to be up.
