A little over a week ago both me and my oh got a 24 hr bug, I took my pill as norm but within the hour I was throwing up, the next day we was both fine and had sex, since then I've had belly ache like I'm due my period, I've tried to get into docs but can't for 3 weeks!! I take my pill religiously so will missing really make a difference?

The birth control pill, sick or not, is not 100% - nothing is. I have known a few completely healthy people that have gotten pregnant while taking the pill. It does happen. Missing it, even just one, can make a world of a difference. You needed to use a back up method for at least 7 days to make sure you were ok.

If youre concerned about being pregnant then get in with your doctor. Birth control pills are digested quickly so I doubt u being sick would effect things.. And feeling bloated could simply be from having the flu.

When I was discussing birth control options with my doctor after my daughter she informed me that I could use the mini pill but you absolutely must take it at the same time every day! She said that even though they say that about the regular birth control pill there is a window of time you have where you will still be protected but that is not the case with the mini pill. Good luck, if you are not you may want to look into something else to prevent pregnancy.

Oh, ok, well if you are on a mini pill, it is probably even more likely if you essentially missed one. I don't know much about periods and the mini pill, because I've never been on a mini pill. Someone else may be a bit more informative. Under normal circumstances, it could be 2-3 weeks before it would show up on a test. Maybe give it another week and do a test, and then if it is still negative, wait another week and do another one.

I don't no I'm on the mini pill for these 5-6 months and not had one since I started them doc ses that's norm apparently :/

I used to miss my other pill loads wen I was younger n I was lucky that's why I was wondering if missing one thru illness would would it b too early to take a test just to b sure?
