We bought the whole set. And have never watched one. The 3 we bought them for are all 3 now. :)

Save your money and get "Your Baby Can Read" My daughter is 9 months old and is reading. She LOVES it! Plus it is interactive for you and Daddy too.
I EMPHATICALLY disagree that this whole program is memorization, yes some of it may be but isn't that how we ALL learn. I now only work with new words NOT in the program and she still consistantly points to the correct word when I ask.

We have one all that it is really is music with different toys moving to the music. But it's very soothing music so she likes to watch it at bedtime. We go over the color of the toys as they come on. I've seen some of the other ones that are supposed to be teaching but my daughter doesn't like them and they were pretty boring.

We were given some for my daughter and she had no interest in them. She much prefered pajanamals on Sprout. Although Pajanamals is only a couple minutes long on a couple times in the evening. It's not education just a bedtime song sung by puppets. Now my daughter is 2 and watches Mickey Mouse, about one episode a day or none on our busy days. Mickey Mouse is the only thing she likes, and we found that out by accident. My son isn't interested in tv, but boy, is he ever interested in music!

We had many of them. My daughter never got into them too much. Sitting in front of the TV like a zombie watching puppets and toys you have around the house is pointless. Play with your child, play music, read books and show your own pics. Sad that I ever wasted my money on that scam.

Personally I think they suck!! They are boring, and dull. We bought one, watched it once and never watched it again. I don't think that they help in the least, you are better to read or draw letters out for your kids.

We got one as a baby shower gift and ended up donating it to a church rummage sale...our son is only interested in tv when there is a sporting event happening and doesn't even look for longer than a couple of seconds if cartoons are on, so no baby einstein for us!

We bought one for my son for Easter, I fell asleep before it was finished and he ignored it the entire time. It really was a waste of money for us but I've heard other mothers say that their babies LOVE them. Haven't heard too many in between, either they love it or ignore it.

Those and Your Baby can Read are not good for the kids it delays them for when they actually start reading...they only teach memorization.

we use the dvd as part of our bedtime routine. my daughter has a bath bottle then watches the movie. it really seems to settle her down before bed. the dvd is 1/2 an hour so as long as your little one isnt glued to the tv all day i don't think a 1/2 hour will hurt

my daughter loves these videos the music is great and they teach the child while being interesting but do not rely on them to teach your child you have to back up everything as these alone are not enough but if you are using as a cartoon type for the child they are great! i have the whole series!

My trips loved them, no they did not learn anything but they are very engaging! It always settled them down after a bath and before a book! I give them as gifts to all the baby showers I attend. I don't care what anyone says, they saved us!

I've actually purchased a program called "Your Baby Can Read" Its amazing and my daughter is 8months old and she can actually interact with the videos and is starting to progress more than most kids her age! It's expensive and very educational and I will add worth every penny i've spent. www.YourBabyCanRead.com check the site out and see what you think

I got one as a gift when I had my son. I turned it on once. It annoyed the heck out of me. Play music instead, much better for their developing minds!

My sister is an ABA therapist and they refuse to allow them to be used. It can delay speech for many different reasons. Lack of interaction, the woman speaking in most of them uses fairly big words that they in no way can pronounce therefore filling their heads with information they can't use anyways. It's bad for their eyes being glued to a tv screen as well. I don't see a problem with them being used in moderation but we are a Baby Einstein free house! My sister would kill me, lol.

I like them but we didn't buy them a lot since I really don't let my little ones watch TV until around 2.

My son watched them and loved them. We didn't use them for educational purposes but in no way is my son delayed, he's actually quite the opposite. In moderation they are fine, we used to put them on when I needed 30 minutes to cook dinner or shower and they did the trick, they kept him occupied!

Just remember they are NOT educational (Disney's been sued for claiming this). This and any "baby" dvd can cause language delays if used too frequently, I think the studies say 1 hour a day causes a 10% delay. However, if its just for the occasional time where you need a few minutes for yourself I don't think it hurts.
Here's an article about them and the delays they can cause if used to frequently:

Edited: hmmm link is too long just search for "Baby Einsteins: Not So Smart After All" in google and you'll see the Time article. :)

I never purchased any. My son watched one at a friends house and wasn't really interested so I didn't spend the money on buying them. He loves the Leap Frog videos which are awesome! Very educational and perfect for children over the age 1. You can check your local library and perhaps they have some of the Baby Einstein DVD's for check out. Then you can preview them and see if they are worth the money.
