Has anyone had a c-section then a natural birth?

I have a 10month old daughter and I'm nearly 28weeks with my second. My first daughter was born early due to pe-eclampsia she was born at 36weeks. At my last doc's appointment we talked about what birth I wanted I said I wanted to try a natural birth. They said I could try but only if I go full term if I don't go all the way I can't have a nautral birth.

( You can only have a natural birth 12 months after having a child so I will just scrap in if my baby stays in till full term.)

They also said because I had a c-section my first child and being pregnant so soon after I have a 1 in 200 chance of my c-section scare coming open and if this does happen there is also a chance of not being able to have children again.

I know it's only a small chance but it dose scare me. I did want to try natural as I know having another c-section makes it harder in the future with births.

I don't know if I want more kids after my second but then agin in a couple of years I might want more.

I'm just not sure what to do try a natural birth or go a c-section again.

Theres pros and cons for both. I'm just not sure which one has the better pros and least bad cons.

I guess I'm just asking does anybody have any good or even bad stories of their own that I can hear????

My oldest boys were 22 months apart and the youngest 24 months from the middle child - not near as close as yours. My first was a c-section and my subsequent two children were VBACs. I was preeclampsic a few days before my due date with my first and they induced me. He was face up, got stuck and I had had an epidural and was unable to move my legs - well enuf to PUSH when they wanted me to - resulting in a c-section. It is my opinion that inducing may cause more DELIVERY problems than if it isn't needed and for me, I think the epidural made it more difficult than it should have been. Other than needing a vacuum assist with the second, I didn't have any problems (I opted to avoid the epidural and he did not need to be induced). I had no complications as far as preeclampsia with my other two. If possible, I would recommend a VBAC, especially with another little one. The recovery is amazing - I was able to get up and shower 15 minutes after birth with my second and didn't have the soreness and mobility issues that come with a c-section. You can always plan on a VBAC and know that a c-section may be a possibility if it doesn't seem to be going the way it should in delivery. They told me the same with the possibility if tearing, but I don't think it would be as much of a concern as yours might be with them so much closer. And as a side - my ex sister in law had four planned c-sections - all her last ones - with a total of five children. So, I'm not sure what the real factors are involved in how many times you can do a c-section birth - they told her after her last that it was all she could do. Tough call, hun.

a little different as i had twins my first birth and an emergency c section......... being a coward it was 8years til my next birth but i was given the same info as you were so my advise is to plan for what you want and hope it goes that way. but remember when it comes down to it we dont really have control of the situation so dont stress yourself about it.

I had an unplanned C-section the first time, and knew in advance I needed one the second time -- so it was scheduled. The second go-around was SO much easier, body not going through labor. I don't feel sad that I couldn't go the natural way, still bonded with both my babies just the same... and didn't risk complications. Go with your heart, but mine said needing a second c-section was no big deal and the safest course. My body let me know, too, with a much quicker recovery over the first delivery. Good luck!
