Ok so I have no idea what to do. I need an internship to graduate college but I haven't had any luck finding one where I am. I just got offered an unpaid internship in Ohio so I could officially graduate. I literally have no other offers. The thing is neither I nor my fiance want to live in Ohio permanently so he wouldn't be coming with me. So our son would be with either me (and I would have to find temporary child care and an additional part time job to pay bills) or I'd have to leave him behind for about 4 months. & I'd have to pay rent/utilities/food alone. I NEED to graduate but I hate the thought of all this trouble. What do I do? Do I wait for another internship offer? What if it never comes?

well here i was trying to find something for you. from the looks of it you live in cedar falls, and i live in cedar rapids. i know where i work they offer an internship, but it was for business. glad you figured something out, good luck!

We're getting married on May 7th so we will be married by that time but I rush to daycare after work to get our son, so I can't imagine being away from him. I don't know if it was some kind of miracle, but since I posted this I had a company respond to me asking if I could do a phone interview and it's in my hometown! Only 2 hours away. I could stay with my mom during that time for free, and my family could watch him while I'm out. TRULY wish me luck on this!

Wait. Among other things, NEVER give up custody of your child for any reason. You aren't married yet.

We live in Iowa right now, so it's about 9 hours away. He graduates in May but his job with the school doesn't end until the beginning of August. My internship would end sometime in late Sept or early Oct. which means he probably couldn't come and get a job for just those couple of months so he'd be without an income.

Wow, that's a tough situation! If it were me, I would wait a little longer to see if another oppurtunity comes up. How far is Ohio from where you are now? And why won't your fiance go for just four months with you??
