At one time I would have said to give the little one rice water, but now I am not so sure. The body has to get rid of toxins and you as an adult and the baby both have toxins. So I would suggest you try letting the body flush it out so it does not block the intestines and then if it continues try rice water the starch helps people with diarrea. hope this helps

the most important is too keep her hydrated. lots of water, pedialite stuff like that. signs of dehydration are sunken eyes, not alert, and change of color in the skin. only give food as she asks for it but stay away from greasy stuff. if it is more than 3 days take her to the doc.

I was told by a nurse that it is actually the BRATT diet, the same as all the others said, but also tea. I guess that depends on how old she is. Just a side note-I never could get any of mine to drink pedialite-they all hated the taste, and it was always a waste of money. I never tried it myself that I recall, so I don't know why. Hope she is better soon!!!

The BRAT diet! Like others have said! But also i would give them pedialite! Which is kinda expensive. You can get the Walmart brand it's like 3 dollars cheaper! And it's the same stuff! My kids always drink that when they have diarriah- and they love it!

BRAT diet--Bananas, Rice, Applesauce (not to be confused with apples!) and toast (not the fibery kinds).

The BRAT diet actually works well. The A is for applesauce. I give toast first if they are really sick. Bananas work well if their tummy is not upset.

Well i would suggest along with what the doctor suggested for a treatment. Foods that will tighten up her stool. Bananas and rice cereal, apples does it for my baby...Try to stay away from foods that loosen her stool...Like pears; greens

Rice water is actually more potent than the rice itself.

the BRAT diet (Banana, Rice, A... Toast) I can't think of the "A" sorry. Use Pedialyte if she is not drinking.

Christina.... with diarrhea you will have to take the little one to the doctors... as sometimes it can lead to dehydration...how old is our little one... taking the baby is eating then soft steamed rice with plain fresh yogurt...lots of liquids to replenish loss of water through diarrhea.... consult a doctor .... wishing you all the best in recovery for the little one...Angel hugs

It depends on how long she has had diarrhea. If she has it for at least 2 days - she needs to see her doctor. Also, how old is she? When my kids were little I found that giving them very, very small portions of dry food, i.e., bread, crackers (nothing on them) and then see if that works. Make sure you give her liquids though so she doesn't dehydrate if the diarrhea is severe and lasts 2+ days. Flat ginger ale, water. Bananas are good too.
