One gift that everyone seems to love is The TickleMe Plant Greenhouse and TickleMe Plant Party Favors. I usually give out the TickleMe Plant Greenhouse as a year round gift or special holiday gift and the TickleMe Plant Party Favors are great for Halloween, Birthday Parties and as stocking stuffers. If you never heard of a TickleMe Plant ..you are in for a real surprise at it interacts and folds its leaves like crazy when you Tickle It. See video..this is real and kids of all ages love it.

My favorite Christmas gift was my promise ring that my boyfriend gave me. We've been dating 2 1/2 years. I'm divorced, he's never been married. I'm the 1st woman he's ever bought a ring for. When he gave me the ring, he also promised to marry me. It was a great Christmas.

Diamond stud earrings and Feb. birthstone stud earrings (my sons bday)  Those were among my favs.  But my best gift was that all my fam from GA and MI came to visit and most of them stayed in my house...and my hubby didnt complain once!!!!!  He actually involved himself instead of escaping to his video games...haha

My favorite gift was a digital picture frame. It's great. Now my pictures are on display all the time. I actually got two, one from my husband and one from one of my sons. I keep one at home and the other at work.

I have a six month old daughter so my husband bought me a heart shaped locket and put a picture of her inside it. He put it under the tree for me and said it was from our daughter. I thought it was very sweet.

We drew names this year on my hubby's side. My neice's husband got my name and my neice got my husband's name. They got us a couple's gife. A 40.00 coupon to the Olive Garden (my hubby's and I's favorite place to eat) and a pintable certificate for free baby setting. They are going to babysit for us. Either at their house or they will come here. Isn't that just the most clever thing you ever heard off. I cried I was so touched by it all.

My most favorite gift is the gift of giving, love, joy, peace and most of all, my family. Even though I had to work on Christmas Eve and Christmas, my family came to my work and brought me something to eat on both days for lunch. I am so blessed ;-)

My favorite gift this Christmas was to have my son and husband home for 10 days. They are both in the military and are preparing to deploy. My husband was wonderful while he was home, both have been away for 3 months so far. He did anything he could to make life easy and I did the same for him. Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year.

I was in an antique store about a month before Christmas...I noticed 2 statues...very different statues..both dogs..one bulldog and one poodle...both dress in what looks like suits...and hats with canes...I said to him those are the coolest statues..and he remembered..he went back and bought them...I was so shocked that he remembered...I absolutely love them. He's an amazing guy!! I wouldn't trade him for anything!!

Swanson Christmas Story 2008

Ian turned 3 on November 10, 2008. As most of you know, Ian has a type of a dystrophy called Mitochondrial Myopathy. He has the top physicians in the world for his disease and is on the best cocktail of medications and is doing fantastic. He had over two years of intense therapies including: Physical, Occupational, Speech, Developmental, Nursing, Nutritional as well as Sign Language. When they began working with Ian he was as limp as a doll. His accomplishments now are: Skeletal Muscle- He can sit, pull to stand, crawl, cruise(hold on to stuff and walk), walk with his walker (with a lot of assistance), move his wheels while in his manual wheelchair, and when he tried out an electric chair could manipulate two switches to make it go. Speech- He can say about 5 words, eats regular food by chewing/swallowing, can manipulate a communication device with amazing ability and his sign language is progressing beautifully! Nutritionally- at normal weight and height of other typical friends and he also thanks God for Neocate Jr. Food supplement, as it literally gives him immediate fuel, which his body doesn’t make very well on its own. With all his progress, he is 3 and cannot walk on his own. When in therapy, we all realized that when around doggies his abilities increased. He tries harder to walk faster and talk/sign better. One of his verbal words is dog -dog. One of his signs is “puppy” without the snap as that is hard for any 3 year old. Approaching Ian’s 3rd birthday brought pleasure and concern as that meant an end to WV Birth-to-three services. Intensive therapies ended abruptly! Insurance does not pay for many sessions of therapy a year. So John and I agreed we needed to get Ian a puppy. I searched on-line for the past year with no luck. Some puppies would be too big- thus hurt Ian. Some puppies would be too small and Ian could hurt them. We did not find a puppy in time for Ian’s 3rd birthday. However, friends and family brought their dogs over to play with him. He had a blast! We were not sure that any of those breeds would be the perfect match. So when Zach and Rachael were at the Amish Country with Nana and Poppy Swanson, we took Ian to Ashland, KY Petland. We were going there with the intension of “trying out puppies” for Ian. They have a birthday room at that Petland and the people are so nice to the animals and the customers. We were met by this precious young girl Brittney- Pet Counselor. She pulled out every dog in their store, some twice. We finally found the perfect puppy breed (Yorkie/Poo). I love poodles which John doesn’t. John loves Yorkies but most are too small for small children. Cutest little boy puppy and we all loved him. I saw a sign that read $499.00. Brittney said they were going on sale next week! I asked if that was his price. That was the price of the rat terrier! This puppy we love was $999.00! We have 4 children, and one has special needs. We politely took Brittney’s card and were thrilled we found the perfect breed but sad we could not get that one. I felt so bad we had taken over an hour of her time and bought nothing. I felt like we should have given her a tip or something. So when I got home I sent a letter to Petland corporate commending her for her patience and consideration of Ian’s special needs and recommended she get an employee recognition award. I also commended that store as it is the opposite of all negative things I have read online about Petland. If we could have afforded that dog we would have bought him from Petland! I would send anyone there to buy a dog. A couple of days later, our family had one of the hardest days emotionally that we have ever had. I am usually pretty strong emotionally but I was having a meltdown on the phone talking with John. On the land-line I received a phone call. I was concerned it was important and took it with John on the line. It was Brittney. She said “You know the letter you sent corporate? Well… they faxed it to my owners who asked me to come in today. I thought I was in trouble. What you don’t know is the owner’s son when was paralyzed at the age of 16 and ended up in a wheelchair. They were so touched by your letter… they are giving you that puppy! We have put him in the holding area and you can pick him up tomorrow!” As I talked to her, John heard the whole conversation. Tears of joy were flowing down my face as I knew that God intervened in our situation and knew our family needed a big hug from Him right then! We went to pick him up the next day on Nov. 19th. We surprised the kiddos. When Brittney informed the children that Petland was giving us the puppy they thought that meant to play with. They also gave us a crate and over $200.00 worth of supplies and access to trainers to make him a therapy dog. Rachael asked John when we could get a puppy. When she realized that was our puppy, she began packing up stuff and heading to the door! As if they would change their mind.(Ha,Ha) When I took him to his well-puppy visit, Dr. Ayers informed me that all of his veterinary expenses were also taken care of by Petland. Our hearts melted! When God is involved he does it BIG! We had no idea how we were going to afford or find a Yorkie/Poo for Ian for Christmas. God knew, God provided and He always does! We hope you are blessed with our story and pray for God to bless your family this Christmas and all of the New Year!

Merry Christmas: John, Susan, Will, Zach, Rachael, Ian and Zeke (our latest furry family member from God!)

The best gift I received was from my 3 1/2 year old son. He was so upset my stocking was empty that he drew a picture of me and wrote I love you mommy on it. He asked my husband what I did to make Santa angry. Very very cute. My husband ran out of time this year, we had vehicle issues so money was tight on top of being tight, so my husband is making it up for my b-day which is the very last day of this month. This year I received the best gift. I put the story in his baby book and I put the picture with his name and date and put it in my keepsake box.

My favorite gift over the holidays was two from my son Jakeb who is 13 years old. He gave me a willow tree figurine of a Mom and Son also a willow tree box with a heart on it, and inside it he wrote on little pieces of paper I love you because you...... and there were at least 35 pieces of paper inside it. I cryed, no more like it I sobbed. It was the greatest gift I have been given since he was in the 3rd grade and they did something similar for Mother's day it was a jar with colored pieces of paper that said I remember when: you tucked me in everynight etc. These gifts are priceless and I will treasure them until the day that I die.

My oldest daughter is 2 years old and her class made clay hand prints for their parents. When I was her age I made the same thing for my mother and she still has it so that really touched me a lot

This was my best and most favourite Christmas in 14 years. Fourteen , my oldest son packed up his car to the roof and moved to Vancouver; got a job; found a girl; got married; had a beautiful little boy in 2008 and they all came home for Christmas. It was the first time in 14 years that our whole family ( 3 boys) was together for the holidays. What a wonderful gift they gave us. On top of that, instead of spending tons of money on gifts, we did a Secret Santa and picked one name out of a hat and bought only for that person with a limit of $50. Of course, the baby got all kinds of presents. It was so successful that we plan on doing the Secret Santa every year. Sure takes a lot of stress away from having to buy for everyone since we all agreed that we don't need a lot of "stuff". Happy New Year!

The best gift of all was my daughters face when she saw what Santa brought her, Smores the furreal pony. She kissed and hugged him all day long. We debated b/c of the price but it was all worth it. We even left dirt by the chimney from Santas boots and she was in total disbelief. How could Santa get down the Chimney with that Pony. Priceless, I hope she believes in Santa for a very long time.

My husband gave me a locket with pictures of my three children in it. It was very sweet. The best part for me was that he left off anything that made it "final," and there is room for one more picture, showing me that he is still leaving it open for one more child!?!
