What was your favorite Christmas gift?

Christmas with my family is in itself always the best gift -- probably corny sounding but very true. I truly think it is better to give than receive, and giving to my three children is the most enjoyment of all. Also, my husband bought me my first digital camera and I love it - and my sister had a photo enlarged and framed for me that was taken of Donny Osmond and me when I met him at a concert 35 years ago! I was so tickled over that!

He gave me a hope ring. At least that is what I am calling it. Sometimes during the day at home with two little ones I get overwhelmed and loose sight of the many blessings I have in my life. The ring has different colored stones all around the band and it just reminds me of hope!

My husband gave me art supplies--paints, brushes, etc. to inspire me again. I used to paint years ago, but had not done so in a long time, so that was a thoughtful gift to get my creativity flowing! Plus, our 22 month old Madison loves to paint, so we will have a fun activity to do together.

Well my favorite gift was from my husband. He is in Iraq right now and it has been hard without since we just had our first baby (Zoey). On Christmas Eve I recieved a dozen long stemmed red roses and the sweetest card also there was a gitf card for our daughter to toys r us with a funny picture of him in the tank he commands. It was super sweet and it made me feel like he wasn't so far away. :-D

My favorite Christmas Gift was having my dad with us one more year. He has pancreatic cancer and had surgery on the 22nd to hopefully remove the tumor. However, it didn't turn out that way. He is inoperable but we got to have one more Christmas with him. Albeit in the hospital, we learned that every moment in life is precious. I am training to run a 1/2 marathon with my brother and sister at the end of June. It is for Pancreatic Cancer Awareness. We are going to be Russell's Rugrats in honor of my dad......Now I just have to raise the $3500 entrance fee!

My husband got me a 'relaxation set' into which he included a basket with new slippers, popcorn, chocolate, and some DVDs of my all time favorite movies, with a coupon for free time to enjoy those goodies! What a guy! And my oldest two kids, ages 12 and 9 spent their babysitting money on two small dollar store nativities for me (I collect them) and they even made me a stocking stuffer! I'm blessed with such thoughtful children and wonderful husband!

I unfortunately came down with a really bad head cold over Christmas.. bad enough that we had to return home rather than stay with my younger sister until Boxing day as planned.. Hubby had to return to work but he made the considerable effort to get home in the early afternoon all week instead of the usual early evening so I wouldn't be alone all day with our somewhat vibrant 10 year old.. and just to add my comment.. I love the panorama posted by Brenda.. brilliant work!

We couldnt afford to get each other presents this year, but the I would say that the best gift would be that my daughter was here to celebrate. My husband and I lost our first born two years ago and christmas was hard to celebrate until this year, we had our daughter in october so christmas this year but much better!

I am truly blessed. The longer we are married, the sweeter and more attuned to me my husband becomes. This year, he helped our two sons (7 years and 3 years) pick out gifts for me. I have wanted to learn origami for years, so my 7 year old picked out an origami kit. My 3 year old picked out a lovely tree of life necklace. My husband got me a Good Karma tee with "home sweet home" on the front under a pic of the earth. And of course, he tells me and shows me he loves me everyday with all the sweet nothings he does. Blessed!!

For Christmas. the most precious gift was having my family around. And this very special gift given by my soon to be mother in law. Was two pair of homemade slippers. I sure had a tear in my eye when I opened that. Reminded me of my grandmother when I was a child every Christmas she knitted slippers and I sooooo looked forward to receiving them from her. Since she went to see Jesus. Well I sure have missed getting those special slippers every year. So this was a pleasant surprise. I also received a Tim Hortons coffee maker. My son of 15 worked for a couple months to buy this for me. He said mom your worth a million. Well I'll tell ya. I gave him the biggest hug. What a young man I have. My finacee gave me a razor amongst numerous other things. What a Christmas. Guess I must of been good this year right. LOL......santa was very good to me. Sending a very special Happy New Year to all. I just know it will be a better Year for all.........smiles

Brenda: That photo is incredible! Your husband must be very talented, creative and patient to be able to put that together for you. It also gives you so many different versions of your daughter so that you can look at the photo over and over again and still see new parts.

My husband did something sweet for me over the holidays by helping me as much as he could. He grocery shopped for the Christmas dinner supplies, kept the kids while I shopped, and took them out for a day so I could "power wrap". That's just to name a few! Those kinds of things are better than anything wrapped in a box!

The best prezzie I got wasn't from my husband it was from my children's daycare centre. They kept a scrapbook of all the girls activities through the year and included photos. They also made a calender each of the girls. I thought it was wonderful and so did everybody else.

For Christmas my husband gave me a framed panorama of pictures he took of our daughter and I at the park. He said it made him understand how I felt sometimes! The picture is of me standing in the middle of the park and about 30 of my daughter running all around me. Some days it really does feel like she is in more than one place at one time, everywhere and getting into everything! The joys of being a Mommy, I wouldn’t change it for the world!
