When I had my first children at 21 and 24 I really did not have the parenting skills I have now and I spent a lot of time expecting them to do more than there age would allow. I spent a lot of time frustrated and angry. I also smacked my sons (never hard) as I had no skills to disciplin any differently.

Now I have a 3.5 year old and I am 42. I have all the time in the world for her. Never smack her, I know what to expect for her age and there simply is no stress. I wish I was as mellow when I was younger I would of enjoyed raising my sons a lot more. Although they have both grown into fine men and we are very close. I just wish I had the knowledge of parenting then as I do now!
