see ive tried the Medela pump in style and handsdown preferred my 90 $ first years double electric pump. i dont know if it was because i had been using the FY one for like 7 months before getting my hands on the Medela, but I found with the Medela i kept having to push the let down button to keep the milk flowing, where as with my FY after my initial let down, milk would keep flowing until i let down again.

I had much better output with the FY and it is really nothing fancy or special.

but thats just me !

I LOVED my Avent Isis Iq Duo twin electric pump. It was great and super easy to use.

I used Safety 1st with my first born because I only pumped once in a while but with our second child (who is almost 1 now) was born with a cleft palate so she couldn't suck so I pumped up until she was 10.5mos (would have gone longer but dried up due to her having her cleft palate surgery and not pumping as much because she needed me to hold her a lot for the first few days after surgery. I have a Medela Pump in Style that was WONDERFUL!! they are expensive but if your pumping all the time so worth it. And def. you will want a Electric one.

Electric is better then manual. With manual you will get tired fast. I use to use an electric one. As for brands, I only used one by Safety 1st, i'm not even sue if they sell it anymore.

From what i've heard, Medela is an excellent brand, but one of the more expensive.

EDITED TO ADD: I just checked, I had made a mistake on the brand of the one I used. Mine was by First Years.
