My baby is almost 2 months old, and she is already drinking more than 4 oz. of formula, and it seems like my husband and I are feeding her like every other hour. Can someone give me a bit of insight or should I talk to my pediatrician about this? Advice anyone on when I can give my baby rice cereal?

My mum and health visitor tell me there is nothing wrong with giving them rice that early, just give them a little bit. My daughter is 2 months next week and i give her the "hungry" milk, but she still gets hungry quite often but not as bad as before. Im also considering on feeding her baby rice.

Give her more formula.
Solids can be started around 6 months.

DO NOT give a 2 month old infant cereal. Their guts are not developed enough to handle solids yet. Your baby is just hungry. My son was nursing every hour to every 2 hours when he was 2 months old. Just feed her as much as she wants as often as she wants. Babies don't over eat.

I agree with Tamara, 6 months. At 2 months your baby is most likely going through a growth spurt so they will eat extra. All your baby needs is milk, so just add an extra oz or an extra feed or two. My daughter was breast fed at that age and she was feeding every hour - two hours for a couple of weeks during her 8 week growth spurt.

I would just do 6 oz of formula. The recommendation for solids is 6 months.

I was told you can give your baby rice cereal at 6 months. I think by 2 months mine were eating about 6-7 oz and ate like every 4 -5hours. I think this is something to talk to your doctor about since he/she knows your little ones health and what not.
