When did everyone stop using there moniters? angel care mats?

I think thats really up to you, as long as your comfortable and feel that if they had a problem in the night you'll be able to hear them. As for the angel care mat i stopped using mine at about 6 months because my son would move all over the place so if ended up in the corner the mat wasnt recognizing movement because he was too far off it. So I think the decision is really up to you and when your comfortable in not using the monitor

I never used amonitor for my kids unless I was outside with my other kids, or on a different level of the house. And I never had Angel Cae mats either. Where ever I was in the house (on the same level) I could hear my kids when they woke up and cried. To me with a monitor you hear every little noise and don't get as good of sleep.

Our rooms are pretty close, but I ALWAYS use the monitors when they sleep. I even used them when they were IN the room w/me sleepin. It just gave me piece of mind at night..maybe I would of heard if they stopped breathing, or anything. My 2 and 4 year old just get up and come to our room if something is wrong, but our 2 month old can't quiet do that yet, so monitor it is.

My son is 3 and I still use the monitor sometimes, especially if I am in the basement and he is on the 3rd floor. Or perhaps he is sleeping and my husband and I want to sit outside. I stopped using the angel mat after he was around 6 months. I don't know if it has happened to you, but my son started rolling off the mat enough that the alarm went off. It drove me bonkers.

I do not know what the mat is, but I used the monitor in my boys rooms downstairs, until they were about 13. It just sat on their dresser all the time. I don't think they even really knew what it was. It was just always on their dresser.It gave me piece of mind. They were the only members of the family with bedrooms downstairs. So I wanted to be able to hear if they needed anything or were sick.

I never really used a monitor unless I was in the basement doing laundry, or when we went on vacation. What is an angel baby mat? I've obviously never used one :-)

The angel care monitor is a great peice of mind for alot of moms and dads. If SIDS is your concern the rate goes down sooo much by the age of 1. But if you feel comfortable using it, why not. What would be the reason too stop, it's not like your baby knows it's there or when you decide too stop, it's going to be something that is going to change the way your son sleeps. If it makes you sleep better and feel more secure, than use it. Your son isnt' gonna know any different.

i was just thinking about this last night!! my husband thinks we could take the angel care mat out now that our boy is one....me on the otherhand, i never want to either. it just gives me pease of mind!!
