My daughter is 13 months and has only taken about 5 steps and plops. She mainly just scales the furniture and will walk from one piece of furniture to the next. She'll cruise around with the baby walker, and pushes the chairs on the wood floor, but has not really walked much on her own. Is that ok?

Yep. 'Normal' age range to start walking is 9-18 months. A baby can start walking before or after this range and still be perfectly fine.
My kids all started walking between 9-10.5 months and I started walking at 18 months.

My daughter was 14 months old so try not to worry about it, there is a wide range of what is considered normal.

my son started walking at 19 months, and he is nearly 3 years now. my daughter started walking 14 months and she is 15 months now

don't worry it depends on the child. My now first was 10 months old, 2nd was 25 months(he is disabled and didn't crawl until 19 months), 3rd was 15 months, 4th was 10 months. my now 5 month old i'm sure will be after 1 before she gets going. She has no interest in moving around too much.

My daughter started walking at 16 months, coincidentally, that's the same age I started walking.

thank you! I hear stories of babies walking at 10 months so I was a little concerned, but I know that every baby goes at their own pace!

Definitely fine. I have 4 kids, and they all began walking at: 15 months, 13 months, 17 months, and 15 months, respectively. You said she takes about 5 steps, so that's a good start. Soon enough you will be wishing she hadn't started yet! :)
