Mine didn't get her first tooth until she was almost 1, and they come in SUPER slow! All kids are different though--skip Ora-gel, I've read bad things about it

Hey there Amanda!
My son Mason got his first tooth around 5 months old, and before that he teethed for a good month! However with my Daughter Riley , she is almost one and just got a tooth last week! So it all depends on the baby I guess! Try using one of the mesh food bags that you can get in the baby section at walmart or anywhere, and put something hard for her to chew on in there that you normally wouldn't give to her for chocking reasons. Riley was never a fan of the freezing teething rings, but she loved having frozen baby carrots and such in that little mesh bag! They also make teething cookies as well. They get a little slimy and sticky but they help a lot!
Good Luck and Best wishes!

probably. my daughter started teething at 3 months... bright red cheeks, drooling, runny poops, gnawing on anything she could reach... this continued for the next 8 months... she didn't pop her first tooth until she was 11 months!

My son got his first tooth at about 5 months and he teethed for a few months before that. One thing that my son liked was a cool damp cloth to chew on :)

Quoting Olivia:

 Get some baby orajel,

Be careful with the baby orajel that young. It can interfere with the babies gag reflex. Save the orajel for 2 year molars.

My son got his first tooth at 4months but my daughter did not get teeth until she was 8months. The drooling and swollen gums are a good sign one is working it's way through. Poor baby :( (hugs to you and baby girl)

My first son had a tooth at 2 months old, I didn't know it til he bit my finger. It is hard to sy when children will start to teeth, usually not til they are around 6 months though. If you are concerned make an appointment with her doctor.

My son's both started drooling around 2 months and the first tooth broke thru at 4 months. I used Hylands teething tablets. They are great! The used to carry them at Longs or CVS. If you can't find them in a store you can order them online at hylands.com......good luck!

My daughter started teething at that age so did my son, and their first ones did not break through until around 5 months.

My daughter started teething when she was 3 months old. she is 10 months old now and has 9 teeth! She just started getting her molars in about a week ago. 2 are coming in at once. Every baby is different, but it definately sounds like its teething. Good luck! Get some baby orajel, wooden spoons, and a cold teething ring. Those always help me out!

My girl has been drooling and chewing on things like that since 2 months, but now she's 6 months and still no teeth. It seems like she'll drool a lot for a few weeks, then it will go down for a week, then back up again. Lately it seems to be bothering her more than usual though so I think some will break through soon. According to my MIL, when my hubby was a baby he seemed to be teething for several months and then his gums turned black and blue and all his teeth ended up coming in at the exact same time.

Tara is right, every child goes through the teething process differrently. But, guessing from your description, she must be. You can soothe her gums with clean, cold damp face towel to help ease the pain. It might also help if you can freeze a teaspoon and use the back of the spoon part against the gum to soothe it too and help the tooth to come out. In the meantime, you may have to check with your pediatrician to be sure, he may recommend teething tablets like Hyland that you can buy over-the-counter. It dissolves quicker, and it's safe.

My son started teething between 2-3 months and didn't get a tooth till he was almost 10 months old! So we had quite a few months of teething symptoms. At one point I even took him to the doctor because I thought he might've had an ear infection with the way he was acting, but nope! Just teething!

Holy cow! 2 months old! I asked our pediatrician every time we went in when babies start teething. The average is 5-18 months. A HUGE timespan. 2 months is super early! Poor babe can't even hold on to anything to chew on! If the gum feels harder and is a bit discolored, it can be a good sign there is definitely a tooth there. But if she doesnt chew on something to break it through, sometimes it can go back down and just play peek-a-boo for months. So try buying one of those teething pacifiers (called razzes or something I believe). Baby orajel & baby motrin are the best for the teeth pain for sure. My son started at 8 months and is now 9 months and has 6 teeth! But we gave him motrin every night before bed and put orajel on during the day, and he was a champ. Good luck!

my son started drooling and gnawing on things around 3 months, he is almost 6 months now, and has 1 tooth in, and 2 back ones coming in...and dont invest in orajel... they just drool it all off... i put his teething rings in the refrigerator, and he does fine!
