2years , but you can introduce it to him right now , so then he can get to like it . maybe he will be interested in it on his own when he learns what it is used for by the time he is 2 years.don't ever push him or / her to use the potty , but make it something fun. reward ur child stickers or a toy when ever her pees on it or poops. i am still potty training my daughter who is 2and 1/2 now and she still insist the diaper ,but she is doing good so far and she doesn't wear diapers during the day at home untill nap time or nite time.I hope this ans your questions.Always incourage your kids and prace them when they use the pooty!

You should start potty training when your son shows signs that he is ready. Usually when they start telling you they need a diaper or want to use a potty chair. We leave a potty chair in the bathroom and our kids were always welcome into the bathroom when we went so they could "see what was going on." We'd ask them if they wanted to sit on their potty and usually they'd sit on it with their clothes on and after awhile, they'd want their clothes off. Right now our son is letting us know when he's gone in his diaper and he likes to sit on the potty chair when we use the bathroom or during a diaper change.

Good question! My son (15 months) isn't showing signs that he's ready yet but I put a potty in our bathroom anyway just to get him used to seeing it. I bring him into the bathroom when I go and encourage him to sit on his potty, even fully clothed just so he can familiarize himself with it. You could start these now and wait to really start when you think he's ready.

Each kid is different and they start to show you the signs they are ready, telling you when they've messed their nappy, wanting to use the loo/potty, taking their nappy off, staying dryer for longer. My eldest boy is nearly 2 1/2 and isn't showing much interest in it but I'm taking time off over the Xmas holidays and it will be warmer so wil be giving it a good go then. Good luck, there's some good websites out there, have a google!

When you are ready to be patient and encouraging through the process. Its much more about your persistance than the child. Mind you, my brother's little boy was trained at 2 and at 2.5 years I knew my son was still not ready (they were born 6 weeks apart). I did it a few months after he turned 3 and he was definitely ready and it was all over in a day. If your little man is showing interest in the whole process, then maybe try, but if he isn't, then don't stress. It will happen when he is ready for it.
