I started my 4 and half month old son on solids at 2 months because he was such a big baby and nothing was satisfying him. My doctor recommended it to me. Now I was just wondering when do you think it would be ok for me to start him on stage 2 foods. He now eats the whole jar of stage one and seems to be still hungry. I just don't want him to choke on the stuff. Can someone help me?

I had the same issue....my son used to eat like it was nobody's business. I gotta ask though did you try the cereal in the bottle before going to baby food? i remember I was at 8 onces instead of 4 like a week or two after he was home....then we had to start adding cereal in some of the bottles cause 8 onces of formula by itself wasn't enough anymore. My son didn't sit good right away it took alittle longer then say the average but when they're eating baby food they're in a highchair anyway.....i believe i might of tried going a jar and a half before switching to stage 2. I also had WIC though at the time and they're pretty good for questions like these. it depends you really gotta see about that cause you don't want them to get too heavy too soon either.

Lol..Too heavy to soon. My son is 20lbs 1oz at his 4 month visit...His is long though too so once he starts walking he should lose it all.

I actually was breast feeding him at first around 6 weeks he was draining me and wanting to eat every hour with nothing left in me. He would latch on and freak out cause I had nothing left to give him. I started then giving him cereal from a spoon, never in the bottle. I also had to supplement with formula because he was starving; that is why my doctor suggested I start him on solids so young. If I feed him 2 jars of food I know he would eat cause after I give him the whole jar he is still hungry and will drink a whole 8 oz bottle. So I am thinking I am gonna have to start on stage 2.

according to the packaging (i guess i trust them since they're the ones making it) stage 2 is for babies who can sit well on their own.

Maybe I will try some then cause he does sit well.
