With my first it started again around 4-6 months old but he was mostly on formula by then. My second, I BFed him until he was almost 2, I got 1 period when he was around 1, then it stopped for a couple of months then I got another one and I got pregnant on that second cycle. I am still BFing my daughter who is almost 12 months old and still no period yet.



Like someone else said you don't have to get your period to get pregnant since you ovulate before you bleed.

I had a 4 week old baby and fell pregnant again. They are now 3 and I am loving it. My cycle did not come back to normal for about 12 months after the birth. But everyone is different. It didn't stop me falling pregnant.

its hormonal base issue and no two individuals are alike when it comes to birth, menstral issues, some are so lucky to get it back immediately after breastfeeding but watchout the moment you stop breastfeed anything can take place, Firstly be aware that you will be ovulating and if you can study your body system enough you will know when ovulation takes place and be able to determine if you want to menstrate or not, in essence if you meet in between your ovulation period, the likelyhood that you will get pregrant and won't menstrate is very high. So why don't you go for pregnancy test and be sure that you are not yet preg. If you are not yet preg, study yourself well enough, you will know when you ovulate and once you ovulate without having free sex, your menstration will follow. That am sure and know from experience, my eldest kid is 11. However if you have sign of ovulation, which means you actually ovulate and you do away with sex for that month, and yet the menstration did not flow, please consult your GNY. it could be due to hormonal imbalance or change.

Hi Kelly, if I was you I would be having a pregnancy test first. It is very individual as to when your period may start again. I take it you are not on the mini pill or anything? You may be pregnant already so go get a test. If you are not pregnant then perhaps go and talk to your GP about any concerns you may have. :-)

You will get pregnant again when your body is ready with or without the period. Think of it this way if your body starts ovulating again and you are already trying to get pregnant you have a good chance of getting pregnant and then that means you will not have your period start up again at all. I was told by my OB/GYN that breast feeding is a natural birth control method so the body can recover from pregnancy. Ha... my mom breastfed all her children and still got pregnant within a few months of having her babies. Same thing happened to one of my friends. She got pregnant three months after having her son. You can start trying now if you want. If you want a few more months before getting pregnant then take precautions because you just might get pregnant now.

You still ovulate even when you are not getting a mentruation. If you are struggling to know when you are fertile, you should chart you temp and check you cervical mucus to see when is the best time. Without a period to base your cycle on you have no obvious thing to base you fertility on. I would recommend researching BBT charts and what to look for in ovulation cycles. That should help. Also your body may not be ready to carry another yet, give it a few more months.

they told me for 7 years that i could not have kids and i never had a regular period and I now have a 3 month old son. I also have a 10year old daughter. they told me that alot of times stress and you health and your mood can trigger when you have periods and dont if you are thinking about it alot the longer it will take you to have one. I stressed and look where it got me I finally gave up on the hope of having another one and look at me now.

breastfeeding does keep it away and mine started again about 2 months after I stopped breastfeeding. You are however, probably still ovulating. Not having a period does not mean you cannot get pregnant which is why so many woman are so flabbergasted when they end up pregnant a month or 2 after delivery. SO try anyway.

my daughter has just turned one month old and i got my period the day she turned a month although it was super light i still had it. i think each person is different and if you are worried then you should see the doctor

Hi Kelley,my name is stella.I have an 8-month old son and my periods started when he turned 6 months.You know u can still fall pregnant before your periods start.I have had friends get pregnant that way.

i went 18 months without my period. just be patient and enjoy not having the hassle :) lol and you never know, you can get preg without ever having your period!

It can take up to 14 months for some women. Most women resume their normal periods once the baby is cutting back on nursing (introducing solids, sleeping through the night, weaning, etc.). With all 7 of my kids, my periods started back between 7-10 months, even with exclusive nursing, nursing during the night, and delay of solids. Probably shouldn't be to much longer for you. You may want to take a pregnancy test, since you can get pregnant before your periods start back.
