I have been using a heater for white noise for my twins, but I don't need to use the heater anymore, and it's just too quiet when it's off. What are people using for white noise? Is there a machine, and if so, where would you buy it, and how much does it cost?

We all have fans in our rooms. They are great for white noise and it is nice to have the air movement. You can get small ones that you can set on top the dresser that are pretty cheap!

in the past I have used the sounds of the ocean, a fan, even lullaby cds. Hope this helps!!!!

There are sound machines at Walmart or just about anywhere. They have all sorts of sounds on them, waterfall, tweeting birds, oceans. They are not too much typically. Probably less than $30 and I would say more likely like $20.00.

Same here... both mine were pre-mature. They get used to the noise and going on's of the NICU's and don't like quiet right?! My first one didn't like darkness either, always had to have a light on for him when he was younger.

I'm glad they are home safe now! I have used the bathroom fan, an air purifier and a humidifier. All have worked well.

I just use a fan or humidifier
They are just as good!
Or like emily said turn the fan in the bathroom on . My sons room is right next to the bathroom and works just as good too

I have a sound machine. Its about the size of a radio and makes all sorts of sounds. Like stream, rain, white noise and Abby's personal favorite, heart beats! Love it... but don't know where you can get one, my mother in law gave it to me.

There are some great, inexpensive noise machines at Walmart or Target. Or you can just turn a radio on to static.

I use the fan in the bathroom. I can hear it from my bedroom. For the record- it isn't my kids who need the white noise it's me.
