Why are boys easier to raise than girls?

I am always told how lucky I am that I have 3 boys. When I ask why, people say because they are so much easier to raise. I feel it is true because my sisters have girls and they are so dramatic.

I've repeatedly been told the same thing...what it all boils down to is girls are easier to deal with than boys when they're younger. Boys tend to be a bit rowdy when they're young. Once the teenage years hit, boys get a little easier and girls, for obvious reasons, get a lot harder. I have two boys and I think God blessed me with what I should have. I really wanted a girl, but I don't think I would have the patience to handle one once she hit her teenage years.

Ask my friend and my MIL which are easier, boys or girls, well they think I live the easy life with two girls. ;) I went to a birthday party with my eldest when I was pregnant. I'd just been told I was having a boy (later found out it was a girl) and I was nearly in tears when I say how plain destructive and naughty the boys were. To think I was going to have to put up with that :( I've never had a boy though so can't say for certain but all the boys I have seen have been more "naughty" and misbehave more than the girls... But ask me again in 10 years ;) Mind teenagers are just a different breed altogether.

Sadly, even with your own Mom, you compete. That's what women do. I have yet to see a male compete with his Mother, have you? I always thought I was a good kid, but my Mom once said, after I frustrated her, lol...I'd take 10 of your brother to one of you! Now I have my own two daughters raised and they are sweethearts who are very close to me...but there were times....that I could have brained them. Grrrr I have to say, however I have never wished ever that I had boys instead of my girls. I adore them.

I COME FROM A FAMILY OF 5 SISTERS AND TWO BROTHERS AND I ALWAYS THOUGHT GIRLS WAS EASIER EXCLUDING THE BOWS AND RIBBONS. NOW I HAVE TWIN BOYS AND MY NEPHEW IN MY HOME AND I LONG FOR A QUITE HOUSE. THEY ARE ALWAYS WRESTLING THROWING THING ETC JUST THE TYPICAL BOY BEHAVIOR. THEY ARE MUCH EASIER TO DRESS SHOWER AND AWAY WE GO. ONLY TRUTH TO THIS MYTH IS GIRLS HAVE THAT CHEMICAL THING GOING ON AND AS THEY BEGAN TO DEVELOPE AND FIND THEIR PLACE IN LIFE THEY SOMETIME CAN BE FLIPPED AT THE LIP.AND ALWAYS CHALLENGING MOM NEVER DAD. BUT THE GOOD THING IS IF THE AUTHORITY IS ESTABLISHED IN YOUR HOME WE ALL MAKE IT THROUGH IT. BUT ON THE OTHER HAND MY 7 YRD DAUGHTER CALL FOLLOW 5 TO 6 STEPS , BUT MY TWINS 13YRS OLD YOU HAVE TO CONSTANTLY REMIND THEM OF THE TASK. I REALLY BELIEVE BOYS CAN BE JUST AS CHALLENING DEPENDING ON THE TEMPERMATE OF THE CHILD AND THE PARENTS..

Generalizations don't make facts.... what metrics do we use to measure "easy?" Males are more likely to be on the autism spectrum, have food allergies and asthma, and break a bone before age 10. Doesn't sound easier to me....

Personally I think we just have to look at our children as individuals, and not define them by their gender.

Thats weird. I have always heard the opposite...girls are easier then boys. I'd say girls are easier as little ones because in general they are calmer, but then once they are teenagers they may be more difficult because boys don't seem to have the same teen dramas. In the end though I don't think boy or girl matters, I think it's just the individual.
