I get sick of walking down the street and getting stared at or going into a shop and getting annoyed by the person in the shop.Other people in the shop get talked to before you even if they have come in after you.I may have piercings, tattoos and wear black clothes but I deserve to be treated like a human not a freak from outer space. Eg went in this flash expensive shop looking for a present for my mother in law. None of the 3 woman in the shop even said Hi how you doing or even do you need any help. They must have just looked at me and thought Well she cant afford anything in this shop.Little did they know I had like $300 I was willing to spend but because they were so rude I thought F It im not buying anything from here.Where do people have to judge???

I would try to answer this, but I think it is more of a rant rather than a question. So I will leave it at that.

If it were me going into that shop I would have gone up to the sales women and said, Excuse me, do you have a problem? I have been in here for x-amount of minutes and not one of you asked if I needed anything. (As I hold up the money in front of them) I have $300 to spend on a gift for someone, but since you apparently have something wrong with you to where you can't help a customer when they walk in, I'll gladly take my money elsewhere. Haha.. That would surely make them feel stupid for judging you.

I wouldn't worry about it.. Just b/c you have tattoos and piercings doesn't make you a bad person.

some people are just plain..bitches. I am a preppy looking girl...but one of my good friends has tattoos and piercings everywhere. She has three kids and people do the same thing to her! I get dirty looks because I am a very young mother and have 4 children, people willl make rude comments when I am out with all 4 of them like "are those all yours..what are like 12?!" and I say "yeah I left the twins at home with their dad" leave them thinkin .lol screw 'em!

Quoting Jenn:

Everyone should be treated the same, this is true......BUT if you walk into a high end store looking like a rockstar, but have no bodyguard or entourage, they're going to assume you're a shoplifter. Not too many tattooed / pierced 'regular' people frequent high end boutiques - so.......maybe they're just not used to that 'kind' of shopper.
Sucks, but that's life.

People are dumb that way though, Its just ignorance. My dads a "Harley guy" and I worked at Harley for 3 years, so Im used to it. I almost never judge people by how they look, even if they have a beard down to their belly button or look like Marilyn Manson. If your not used to it, Its probobly a little intimidating or whatever.

Yeah thanks for the comments.I am really self conscious of my weight specially now after having my 2nd child but as for my piercings, tattoos and black clothes I dont care what people think I just wished that People could look past appearances and treat you like a normal person.Thats all its not much to ask.Im a strong person but if you get someone with really bad self esteem issues this sort of thing could really affect them.

Exactly! And I used to have no self esteem. :( Im alot better now but still struggle sometimes. It came from being tortured in school as a child and being an only child.

If you don't want people to look at you, stop trying to make a statement with your piecings, tats, and plugs and what all.

I don't think you should be judged based on those. But you can't fault people for looking.

lol........awww....hun you just need to laugh and walk away......I have a "normal" look medium hight smaller build......so on.......my wildest(that people can see is my hair color...I love going on a shorter than shoulder cut and I dye it some pretty wild color(for my town anyways) I live in small country town in Iowa and the looks I get make me laugh so hard....I love dark, deep reds with purple tints and bright blonde streaks......What they don't know is I have five tatoos(they would if they looked in the summer time)and at one point befor joining the military I had my nipples pierced. My advise? Be yourself and if they want to judge they are the ones that will have to explain themselves at the pearly gates not you!! By the way I am thinking of going black, red blonde and purple the next time so as I said if your happy please by all means live your life to the fullest and be happy and screw what everyone els thinks. At least you won't be the one at the end of lifes road asking yourself why you didn't do that one thing that you have always wanted to do!!

lol! A freak from outer space! XD I have tattoos, my nose peirced, and wear black clothes too. I like rock music and look much younger than I am. Im not full of myself or anything but I am a pretty girl and a natural blonde. So not only do alot of people think they are better than me because of my style, people also get jelous. Barely anyone is nice to me at first. Nomatter where I go, Im always sneared at by someone. Young or old, male or female. It really hurts after a while. I dont know how to let it roll off my back. I cant help but be offended. I think people who are judgmental like that are just unhappy with themselves, so when they judge someone they feel better about themselves. I could never treat someone that way.

I blame society making it exceptable to jusdge based on looks. Think aout it, you see it on T.V. ALL of the time. It's in magezines, "Oh she's too thin/fat". It really is a ridiculous cycle.

I get treated the same way for wearing Tripp jeans. They seem to especially look down on me when they see me dressed this way with my daughter. Like they believe that makes me a bad mother. Basically, it's just life and you have to ignore it. Or mention it to the manager. lol

It seems to be nature and happens the world over have had similar experience i am on the larger size and have also worked with people with disability's and getting served was always hard.

The worst one i remember was after my first set of twins where born One had a form of club foot and he had to wear plasters from 8 days old the accusing looks and i over heard some one say how the hell can a baby that small break its leg as if i had been beating him up that broke my heart but some people are just small minded enjoy the fact you know who you are and dont let it get you down..cheers Chelle
