When I put our son in his carseat last night he said his bach was hurting, then when he woke up this morning he said it again? I'm just really worried bc I know theres been no injury or anything so why would it be hurting? Has anyone else ever heard of this? Oh and he's only 3yrs old.

My 3 yr old started doing this too...not so surprisingly after the birth of his baby brother. My husband suffers from migraines so he started sufferring headaches first...hubby also broke his back when he was 16 and has constant pain, then I've also had constant pain since new baby...so his back hurts too...We brought it up w/his pediatrician because he would say his "brain" hurts? and because of the timing and such, and wanting attention...its been him repeating what he hears. If he's playing and such like normal I wouldn't worry too much!

Most likely he is just repeating what he hears. I would keep a patient eye on it though if it reoccurs more than three times in 6 months. The standard scoliosis check the doctor does will not detect loridosis (it is like scoliosis but the spine curves to the front and back instead of side to side). A mild case is not easily detected but will cause periodic pain in the lower spine area. Your son probably does not have this but a gentle caution would be a good idea if the pain reoccurs multiple times.

hes prob saying bc he heard you lol.. which is fine.. if hes acting normal phys i would think hes just mimicking.. if his phys activ change a lot maybe i would take him to be sure..

WoW Thanks Alot, I wouldn't of known that without your help, thank you so much Abbie:) Sorry to here that about your Son. Can he "grow" out of it at all? Yeah now i'm deff gonna talk to my Husband about it and see what we can do. But he hasn't complained all day/night? Is your Son like that? Does it only hurt him sometimes or..
Thank you again Abbie~

I would call a chiropractor that deals with peds! As children grow, run, jump all that stuff they do, it puts a great deal of stress on the back and believe it or not the bones of the spone can get a little off adn cause pain pretty easily.

My son is 2 and is adjusted every few months!! I wouldn't go to a medical doctor because they don't know how to deal with the back ( in my experience)

Well if his cheek is hurting ... :)

I'd just watch him. If it is a problem, you will know. You will see it in his behavior - he won't want to run and play.

Maybe he just wants to be like you. Imitation, they say is the highest form of flattery.

Thanks JuLeah, but Nah, he's walking, running, playing as usual (if not more) and NOT even complaining?? It's just like I said, he only said it 2wice, once last night when we got in the car I put him in the carseat and a lil while later Out of the blue (still in the car) on the way home he said Momma, "My backs hurting". And Second this morning as soon as he got up and walked in here he said it again? I don't know if he's saying it bc I say it alot (my back hurts alot and I say it to his Daddy alot) also I ask him, "Who else's back hurts"? and he said, "Mommy's" (mine) So I just don't know, ya know.? But when I asked him "where" it hurt he pointed to the bottem, and thats where mine hurts too, so idk? I can't really tell if it's bc of me or not?? And I touched it and ask if it hurt here or here and he said Yes to everything (and I even pointed to his cheek) so I really DON'T know??

I'd pay attention to when it hurts - when he sits, when he runs...

When does he complain most? He might have twisted something and he will be fine in a day or so, but if not, or if he is not wanting to walk, run, or play due to pain, I'd take him to see someone.
