Hi Lora Queen,

I had to delete a recent post of yours because it violates the Circle of Moms policy against solicitations. While I'm glad that you're eager to help and share, solicitations are annoying to the members of this community and the members frown upon them. The prohibition is stated both in No T.H.U.M.P.S. and in the Terms and Conditions, which you agreed to when you signed up.

If you're unable to respect this policy I will have to block you from this community. The policy is restated below this message for your reference.

Policy on Solicitations

The following are considered solicitations and are not allowed on Circle of Moms:

- Work from home recruitment pitches
- Ads for your company or business. This includes but is not limited to dieting programs and books you have authored.
- Requests for votes in a contest being held outside of Circle of Moms
- Requests for donations to a charitable cause
- Diaper discount codes

If you wish to post an author's or researcher's query, you must seek written permission from both the Circle of Moms community management team and from me. Start by sending an e-mail to Meghan (at) circleofmoms.com.

Violators of these guidelines will receive one warning. Further violations will result in termination of your account.

Thanks for your understanding and cooperation.

Best,
Circle of Moms Editor

What post did you delete? If it was for a garage sale, how does that fall under the company or business catergory? Can I make a Circle of Moms online garage sale group?

Lora

Yup -- any post that is trying to sell something is considered a solicitation.

It is a sale...hence making money for your goods, hence business.

It is soliciting for business. I believe the warning is pretty clear. If you do not understand it further, contact CoM directly. Soliciting means advertising for business. This is not a site for that. If you want to advertise for your garage sale, go to craigslist for your area. Most likely, the people on this site do not live where you do anyway.

I think they regard that as advertising even though it's not actually for a business.

BAHAHAHAHAHA! Was that suppose to be an insult? You just made my day! But I do not frequent garage sales....lol. In fact, if you would like, i am hosting one this weekend. But notice I am no so desperate to make money that I am advertising on CoM.

You have belonged to this community for what like 2 minutes? Grow up. Get over it. Stop complaining about getting a warning for something you clearly broke the rules for. You cannot handle it? No one cares.

Oh and clearly, lil miss can be wrong, you look to be about 15 so I'm not going to take anything from you too seriously. Have a nice day.

SMH. Clearly you do not get it. You have no idea how many solicitations have to be removed from this site daily. Why? Because they would over run this site if they were not. This is not a place for business, this is a place for mothers to get to know one another, give and receive advice, and have friendships all across the world. Not to sell used items, new items, or advertise your books and blogs. This site is here for a specific reason, not your little branch for advertising so you or anyone else can make money. You don't like it? Tell the management team.

Yep, they wouldn't want anyone to make money. lol Even though I'm doing more buying than selling. Oh, well.

Actually, there are quite a few people who live where I do. I get your dift though. Craigslist is too annoying. I'm going the Facebook route. ;))
