Ok, I know this is going to be a total ramble but I have soooo much on my mind I can't even think straight I've even neglected friends.. OMG!!!!...
Let me start back in Early May.. Marlee came to me one day and told me her "private" hurt her when she peed. I pretty much figured bladder infection... She doesn't take baths or anything like that only showers.. She got it from "not wiping well enough" she's 8 and I understand she's a kid and wanting to hurry outside so I kinda knew.... But the thing is she waited to tell me until she was in severe pain...We took her in and the Dr. said she had a really bad bladder infect gave her antibiotics and she was fine in 7 days....
Fast Forward to around July 15th or so.....Marlee came to me and told me there was blood in her underwear. I had to do a double take and asked her again. She told me there were chunks of blood that came out in the toilet... My heart SANK!!!!
I called the Dr. and they got her in and checked her urine and even checked her "down there" and the Dr. asked me if I knew she already had hair down there. I looked at him stunned and told him 'No'.... Just so everyone knows...I don't watch my daughter pee nor am I around her when she gets dressed unless it's something serious.... Her body is hers and it's private... nothing against anyone who does (please don't flame me).. She has always come to me if she had a problem... Both the Dr. and I asked her time and again if she had ANY pain at all... she told us NO... Her temp was up to 103 and they told me to keep an eye on her and they would prescribe her something b/c according to the Drs. here Kidney Infections are VERY common.... UMMM.. I've never had one and I'm 27... By the time we left there the Dr. told me she was hitting puberty at 8 yrs old and was treating her for an infection... It's not uncommon my cousin started when she was 8 as well..
This is a blog I wrote after taking her to the ER later that night after her appt...
Update on Marlee:
These last 2 days have pretty much been a complete blur... When we got to the ER at 830 or so they took her back right away and started an IV (which she was totally scared b/c she had never had one before).. Being the brave tough girl she is she yelled a little and looked at me w/ the saddest puppy dog eyes! My heart broke for her. They did several tests and the lovely Kidney infection she was diagnosed with hasn't been getting better even though she was on antibiotics. They checked her temp regularly and found it was bouncing between 101. and 103. She was also so nauseated that they had to give her stuff in her IV b/c her head w/ 'moving' as she put it.. The Dr. offered her water and Jello and said if she couldn't keep either down they would admit her..She ate a little of it and they let us go at 3am! When we got home Mike had to get up for work at 530 but I was almost sure that wasn't going to happen. We ended up getting up at 7 but also had to get up w/ Kingston between 5 and 6 so I ended up w/ very little sleep and really couldn't come on and Update as that I was barely functioning. lol Marlee pretty much laid around yesterday and didn't want to do anything.. SHe later decided she was hungry and she ate and kept it down, she even played the on computer! It was all short lived though. Marlee also had a Drs appt yesterday at 1 and luckily she did b/c her temp was still up to 103 and all she was doing was drinking water again. The Dr. told me she would spike one for about 7 days which to me, doesn't seem right.. I was told if she starts to throw up again to take her in if she's not keeping stuff down.. Marlee didn't puke at all until last night. Her head was hurting really bad and her temp was high again so I gave her Ibprofen which lasted all of 2 minutes in her before she bolted to the bathroom(but didn't make it).. Poor baby's party is in 10 days. We are really hoping she's starting to feel better soon... She's sleeping right now and probably will for the rest of the day...
With that journal I thought it was all over.. she's never had any pain even in the beginning of this damn kidney infection... So, I took her in for her school physical on August 11th and they did a urine sample again and she looked great and felt great according to her.. The dr. told me she looked fine and there should be no more problems.....
On to last Friday the 4th..... I got a call from her Dr. telling me they found blood in her urine and extremely high white blood cells BUT..... there is NO infection..... I asked him how could she have high white blood cells if she had NO infection... When she took the pee test I made sure she wiped well for testing with the towelette..So there was no question there... He told me he would call to make an appt for an Ultrasound and for a Urologist... He also explained it would take at least a month to get in.. they called me on tuesday saying she has an appt friday the 11th.... I asked them why so fast and they said b/c it's important to get her in fast b/c something isn't right...... Well DUH!!!!!!!!! Now I'm totally scared.. They are doing an ultrasound tomorrow at 3:30 and hopefully we will know more.... Everything I look up on Blood in Urine with High white blood cell count and NO pain... all comes up BAD..... Bladder Cancer and Kidney Cancer WTF?!?! I've read even Joggers something or other.. well she doesn't over exercise shoot her school doesn't even have recess... I'm truly scared! I lost a daughter when I was 16 weeks preggo and if I lost her I would go F*cking crazy!!! I'm in tears thinking about this...
Is there anyone familiar with anything like this?? I'm so sorry for such a rant and rave...
