Yes I believe it is important my parents never said it to any o us kids I know they love me they have proven that many times in my life. I wish they did say it when I was growing up atb this point I would feel weird and out of place if I looked at me mom and said I love you just because that not something we have never done. I can see my mom saying I know. Plus I think it's important that they know you do what you do as their mom because you love them. I don't think you should just assume your kid know that you love them and are kids and their minds think differently than I our do. So telling them is better than not and everyday I couldnt imagine not say good night I love you to each one of kids before they go to bed.

I think it's important to say it so my girls can understand that I do the things I do for and because of them. I actually say it many times a day to my girls. I must admit, though...since they still can't really understand a lot (mine are 2yrs old and 5 mo old), I say it because it makes me feel good to let them know how I feel.
My oldest hasn't yet said she loves me, but has said "I love cookie" and "I love sissy".

yes! i tell my daughter probably 100 times a day and give her plenty of hugs and kisses and cuddles. my parents did with me, too, my fiances parents did with him, and he does it with our daughter as well. i think it helps them be confident, because they know their parents love them always, no matter what they do or what happens.

I tell my children that I love them many times every day. It takes a few seconds of my time and is good for them to hear. Of course, I show them that I love them but it's equally important to my children for me to tell them.

Yes, you just can't say it enough! x
It is down to parents to ensure that our kids feel totally loved and secure, and that it is a good thing to express how they feel too.
There is nothing like getting a big hug from your little one as they say "I love you Mummy".

Absolutely and give tons of hugs and kisses. My son is turning 4 and he has started telling me he loves me now without me telling him first. I just adore him.....

YES!!!!! I tell my kids every day and my parents told me every day! However my man's parents never told him they loved him and he really wishes they had. I believe that my ex-husband's mental problems are partly because he felt unloved by his parents. On our wedding day he told his mum he loved her and she just said "I know." I was shocked!
