Is it true what they say about welders?...

Hi all!
I've been with my welder bf for a year now and quite sick of all his mind games. I am wondering what your thoughts are on welders in general....My father was a welder, and I have known other ladies with welder bf's, and all these men seem similar. Mine is a lying, manipulative, self absorbed, controller.
Does this go for all welders or just the ones i happen to run into?....

I know I'm late posting on this discussion but I just joined this site. My husband is a welder and is away from home lots. He's very devoted to our family and not controlling at all. My personal opinion is that its just your husband and an issue he needs to deal with. I'm sorry you have to deal with that but with a traveling job you have to have trust and honesty with each other or you marriage will be on the rocks. Hope everything works out well for you.

i don't really think that his personality has a lot to do with his line of work, it might have more to do with his gender. maybe you just picked a bad seed. i know there are a lot of eligible bachelors where my hubby works, i have heard nothing but good things! and here is one thing that IS true about welders...they rake in the dough ;)

Probably just the ones you have met. My husband is a great man. Hard working and supportive. He does like to be in control too. not of me but of his surroundings, equipment and time.

must be the ones u run into.... my husband is the complete and total opposite, he is a devoted husband, fantastic father of 5, hardworking man who i wouldn't trade for the world.... dont give up on them, they are not all bad.....

Maybe it's the guys in your area???

My husband isn't a controller, but does like to be in control, work independantly and be his own boss. He doesn't like being told what to do. I don't know the guys he works with that well, but my husband seems to get along with most of them pretty well. I am just sick of living apart right now and feeling like a single mom. He has been traveling for work for 3 1/2 yrs.
