Obviously, being on Circle of Mom you use facebook but I wondering how many are using Twitter and Facebook to promote their business.
My number one tip is make sure that others know what you do but be yourself and build relationships, real relationships, and the rest falls in line.
I have found them to be amazing tools. Please post advice you have for growing our at home businesses using social media.

Using twitter and other social media sites are a great marketing tool, that is instant, wide spread, and efficient. I actually teach private twitter classes on how to use it for marketing purposes even if it is just to enhance your personal brand. Fell into my lap when i saw how many ppl wanted to use twitter to promote themselves etc, but we're sure how to begin or do it effectively.

Use TweetDeck or similar applications to search for keywords applicable to your business. Although I work for a conventional company, we use this to find clients/partners/interested individuals about our company by searching for our company name in posts.
So, for example, if you sell widgets, have a filter for 'widget'. If someone tweets about needing widgets, your filter would catch their tweet, you can follow them, and the send them an @reply.
