Ashley, if you want to work from home, do so selling your own marketable skills to an employer rather than be used to market products to other people. A lot of home-working opportunities are only based on how successfully you can persuade other people to part with their own money for goods or services they could probably live without.



Look for a homeworking opportunity where you do NOT have to pay any start-up fees and you do NOT have to persuade other people to buy stuff.



I personally HATE pushy sales people. Most of these jobs are about selling.

If you are serious about working from home let me know. I first ask that you have a idea of what you will and will not do. I also want to share with you the difference between a work at home JOB and a work from home business. Now most people want to work from home(it's ideal) However finding a company is perrty intresting and when you have found a company, It's true you get to pick your work schedule which is usally a three to four hour block.(now if you can keep your kids quite for that long give some of us other moms some pointer LoL) These companies don't want the peple calling in to know that you are in fact working from home. No to metion ONLY getting paid $7-$8 an hour.

Now let me share with you a home based business and what it consists of. A home business gives YOU the FREEDOM to set your own schedule. People know that we are working from home as they are trying to do the same(ofcourse) So your not sticking your kids in daycare or in a room some where to try to keep them quite(AS if that would ever happen). You also don't need any special degrees etc, It's not corporate America there's no one standing over your shoulder and telling you your ONLY worth this amont an hour. Anyone from any alk of life can be successful as long as they are deligete and consitent.If you can see yourself being commited to 2- 4yrs while building financial freedom for your family, And not wanting to have some one else around for your kids firsts(walk,crawl,teeth,crissis etc..) I work from home with 4 children all under the age of 10. There is a ton of great advice from a lot of these replies, but I was like you - not a lot of money, but knew I wanted to contribute to the household. Here is what I realized, the only thing residual in our lives is our bills- telephone, internet, cell phone, tv - why not get paid on those services that we use everyday and pay for EVERY MONTH. That made sense. Now we are 17 years old, in 20 countries, just appeared on primetime tv and have cutting edge technology that will be in every household. Take 8 minutes in between caring for your family and see for yourself. It may not be for you but at least you looked. Best wishes for you and your family.

I truly believe that I have the perfect work at home business opportunity for each & every mom out there looking for something to do in some spare time from home.
I’ve tried and tested tens to hundreds of different home based business opportunities.

Believe me when I say that. I started out many years ago and have now definitely found a few that work. Of course I cant work with all of them at once, so I’ve selected my favourite two and am working closely with them.

I have reviewed the top 10 or so companies that are offering legit work at home opportunities or businesses and have put together a web page with links to each of them so you can have a browse at them and choose one for yourself.

I know there are so many options out there for working from home. However, most of those options involve working for a company...not working for yourself. And as we all know, many of those are schemes, they are not legitimate businesses. If you are looking for something that is purely YOUR business where you can work at your own pace, your own hours, etc, then you should really consider one of my reviewed businesses. It’s all about you! You are an agent for companies. Placing adverts for them and typing for them etc. No, you don't need to be a computer whiz or know everything about technical design to become one. There are many, many options and free websites available to you. I promise you, you won’t be disappointed.

I have never liked the ones where you have to sell stuff, or do conference calls, or in an indirect manner try to sell something or push something onto another person. That is JUST NOT ME!!! I’ve tried many forms of Network Marketing (health products/investment products to name a few) and just couldn’t find the dedication to go through with the conference calls, classes, conferences, trainings, seminars, loads of driving, buying of this and that (dvd/leaflet/mail marketing material) etc etc etc. I’m sure you have tried some or other sort that this is ringing some big bells for you.
I’ve spent & lost thousands of Pounds already on these types of business. OK, so they do work for some, but not me and maybe they didn’t work for you either.

What I have found now (the top 10 in my review web page) are ones that you need to be able to type, have a computer or access to one, read (and learn from what you are reading) and some spare time. Naturally if you have more time at the start to help you set yourself up that would be good. But not essential, as we will all get there, just at different paces.

Ok, so if you have any questions, don’t ask me – lol. No, really, feel free to ask about any of my experiences while trying these companies out, but as I am not an agent of any of these businesses I am not involved in the mechanics of any one of them. Ashley, I read your post and I have been where you are right now...10 years later I have learned a lot and I just want to tell you that the assembling things at home thing is very difficult with kids...basically, you get these teeny tiny parts and try to put them together and they have to be exactly as the company says and you don't get paid if you don't get it right, etc. That was my experience anyway! There are legitimate ways to earn money from home, but you have to actually WORK for it...the idea is to go with a company that has a great product(s) and a great compensation plan that you can build your own business around. In my experience, these factors as well as the people behind the company and on your team are extremely important...if you want to own your own company and work for yourself at home, you will need to make some sort of investment. I don't know where society got the idea that a start up fee was a scam...if you owned a company that utilized people working out of their homes to sell your product, would you just give anyone and everyone a free kit to get started? If they invest money into a start up kit, you know that they are serious and you didn't just waste your resources by giving them a start up kit...seriously, think about it! The opportunity to make a great living is out there, but most people fail because they are not disciplined enough to succeed and then they bad-mouth the opportunity. If you really want to work from home with the ability to be your own boss and build a business you can be proud of, contact me and I would love to help you. Being a mom is so wonderful but being a stay at home mom is a true blessing. I am a stay at home mom of 2 little girls one is almost 5 and the other is 19 months. Hi Ashely!

Yes I understand with everything else how hard it is looking for legit work at home. I have been a stay at home mom for about 7 yrs and I too started out looking for a work at home job. I found several differnt site some that wanted you to pay for their job boards, And some I did just that. Only to find out I would be making 7 to 8 dollars an hour (on top of trying to keep a 3 yr old and 4yr old quite for 3 to 4 hours) Of course these companies don't want the people calling to know that you are infact at home.

So I then started to take a different approach, I started looking into work at home business. I too not a sell person at all. Found tons of information and business out there. What I did in decideing was to make a list of thing I would do and a list of things that I would never do. That's when I found this great company. It has truly been a God sent. Now if you are serious about working from home I would get my list statred. Greetings Ashley! Its a pleasure to meet you. I'm Tresie. I just wanted to stop by and share some information or advice for you. I know where you are coming from. I felt the exact same way. I wanted to stay home but still earn an income and I didn't have $100s of dollars to start a business. Most of all I did not want my daycare center raising my daughter either. I have to tell you that working from home is an absolute blessing. You just have to decided whether or not you want a work at home job or a work at home career (home-business). I have been in the work from home field since 2003 and love it. I've worked for many companies from home (as an employee) and did enjoy doing it at the time. However, I prefer owning my own business over a work at home job cause you still have to have some schedule and report to someone. With my own business I have more FREEDOM and write my OWN schedule and if I need to leave really quick to go pick my daughter up from school, I just do it. I don't have to worry about my shift not being covered. I OWN it and I don't have to worry about being laid off. What I like even more is that I control how little and how much I make! As of September 2008, my home business with Ameriplan has allowed me to work full-time/part-time from home based on my family's schedule!



While you are conducting your search, you have to be careful about scams. In 2003, when I began my search for work from home I got scammed out of over $500. You name it, I've probably done it. That experience is what prompted me to pursue the degrees that I have which is in Paralegal Studies and Criminal Justice-(CSI and Cybercrime emphasis). I have done volunteer work for 4 or more years as an Internal Investigations Manager for a work at home forum that has now transformed into a telecommute agency. I eventually plan to work for the government in their Cybercrime Units. Pretty much I can spot a scam not even a mile a way!





Feel free to contact me for more information or for advice on things you may come across. You name it, I've probably done it! I've done over 30+ things from home so far. But I do recommend that you do your research on all businesses/ companies that you come in contact with. Don't always rely on consumer reports as your sole decision maker. Use that information to ask that company questions about the reports you may have found if if they answer your question entirely to your satisfaction, you make the decision to proceed with them or not. There are ALOT of disgruntled people out there calling companies scams when they are not. I have been dealing with a lot of cases where companies are cracking down on these people and suing them. So becareful who you are quick to call a scam and especially if you are posting it in a public domain.
