I've started an online Boutique called Womens Fashion Boutique. I'm enjoying customizing my Boutique, filling it with products, and writing reviews. The cool thing is, I'm actually earning money in the process! In fact, I make up to 25% on every sale.

Cristine, Roz is so right in you need to evaluate what you need in a job, and whether it will fit in your life. You do need to find something you are passionate about. AND, know that working at home does not mean you do not have to work to make money. You have to have disapline and know that you are the Boss and would you fire you if the work is not done!
If you do go into Direct Sales, find something that is consumable, which means that people try, buy, use and order some more. That way it is easier to have a client base that you can depend on and not have to go out looking all of the time for new clients in order to sell!
I love it, I was in a bad accident a month ago, cannot even drive yet, let alone go out and do my job, yet had a $107 day yesterday of which I make 50% because my clients are loyal!

So have you taken the time to figure out exactly how much you need to earn each month? This is the first place to start and to decide what other things might be important to you. Have you ever considered Direct Sales? I have several friends who have been in your shoes and found something with the Company I am with that fit into their lifestyle, gave them the flexibility to work around their family life and they were still able to make a very good income.
I love that the Company I represent believes in Faith First, Family Second and Career Third!

There are many opportunities. Check them all out. See what fits your interest and passion. Depending on your skills you can create your own opportunity or find an existing one. Just be sure to check how long they have been around, check the BBB and DSA. Most people that are network marketers are going to tell you how great their company and products are, even if they are not...(maybe they are gullable maybe they just want your money) With thourough research you can find a good one. But you do need to jump in and really work hard to make it succeed. The basic formula is the same for all network marketers, so the product, training, upline and cost are all variables to check out. Like others, I am a network marketer with a company that has been in business over 50 years and was the pioneer in this business model. Everything is upfront and training is excellent and FREE. Hey there Christina, I feel your pain! I got pregnant right after I finished my dental hygiene degree so needless to say I've never had a full time or even part time dental hygiene position.

What you need to do is evaluate whether you are looking for a job or a business, there are valuable sticky's here at the top of the group to help you determine what you want. If you are looking for a long term that will change your life for the better then look at the work at home businesses, many of the girls here have one. If you are looking for something just to help you get by then a job is what you are looking for.

Please know that if you choose a work at home business it is NOT easy. The process is simple, yes, but to get what you want out of it is a lot of hard work. But with that said though, you can have fun doing it if you find something you are passionate about :)

if you want to stay at home the only thing out there for people are for you to become a day care provider in your home. Or you can take a course and do medical transfers. Or door to door things at night like party lite or that chef one. I have been doing day care in my home for nine years going on ten years now. Hi Bonnie, Im so sorry for you and your friend! I too am 17 weeks preggo and I basically went through what you are describing with my Oldest. I needed Modified Duties as my job as a caseworker with kids 3-5 with Severe ADD/ADHD was too Volatile a situation and of course they told me there are no modified desk duty services and put me on 1/2 days...Yea, umm Id make equal if not more pay on disability...so that is how the whole thing began!

Im going to message you now, I have a SIGNIFICANT income from home and I only work 20 hrs. doesn;t matter if your 18-98 A 5 year old can do this!

oh my goodness...that is terrible what happened to your friend! I can't believe they did that!

I think a good company and a good business would be something that you could do anytime, anywhere, in any condition. The woman that brought me into this company has built her business almost entirely online. One of my upline has 3 children under the age of 5 and works this business full time and did so while pregnant as well. I have 2 children and neck and back problems that require physical therapy 3 times a week but I still am very able to do my job. We don't carry almost anything around and it is easy...so easy i still can't get over it :)

If a company wants you do something that is against your better judgement, doctors orders or just plain not good for you, they don't deserve to you have you working for them. ughh! makes me so mad that some companies think that they can push people around or push them out. my mother has so many health problems after working for and doing whatever she was told to at the factory she worked at. I don't understand why companies like that can get away with this kind of thing!
ok...enough of my rant :)
Join a company that treats you like family and is concerned for your well being...that's my advice.

Bonnie I really would like some more information on this, I'm only 20 and haven't been introduced to anything that I'd want to do forever, I was working in retail so i started going to school online for Retail Mangement, and now that i'm Preg. there are a lot of things that a company may ask you to do that you are unable to do. I have a friend that is also preg. that was working at a certain supercenter, she brought them her proof of preg. letter and asked to be transffered out of her department as she couldn't do the heavy lifting anymore and they wouldn't work with her and pretty much forced her to quit because they didn't have anything to fire her about they just made her life so awful and hard for her to do the things she needed to do to be good at her job that she quit. So I fear trying to get back into retail stores, But there is just no way My Boyfriend and I could survive on one income.

Hi! Oh I definately feel your pain. I was laid off from a high paying corporate job (90% of our total income) when I was 7 months pregnant! Talk about being looked over! Now, you are only 14 weeks so DON'T SAY ANYTHING about being pregnant. Don't try and hide it but it is illegal for them to ASK you about your situation. I have two kidos and I know what it is like to have to put them in daycare, it is right for some people and not right for others. There are a variety of things you can do from home. I have found the best for me is working for myself in my own home business rather than be an employee, that is so important with little ones around.
