I have a 4 1/2 year old who has just stopped napping, and a 3 year old who has decided he doesn't need to nap either! For 4 1/2 years I have relied on naptime to paint and get work done - now WHAT? Yikes! The day used to structure around naptime as the centerpiece, with lunch then books then nap - but now, I am not sure how to structure the day so that it is not just one huge freeplay-mommyplay, can anyone offer any advice? I would really appreciate it :) Sincerely, Katie

I can sympathise, I also resort to naptimes to try and get work done, and if nap times are only half an hour or skipped completely, its a bit of a mission! Mine is only 5 months old, but I've read somewhere for kids your age, that you have a special activity box for when mommy has to work, with stuff that they really love doing. The box only comes out when you have to work, so that they can associate the fun box with playing alone... Have obviously never tried it so don't know if it works.... but it sounded good :-). Good luck
