My 17yr old son was stricken with a mental illness. I can't begin to explain the devastating toll it has not only taken on our family, but him as a young adult entering the world we live in. We found a wonderful organization NAMI that has gone above and beyond to educate us and support us.
Without these types of programs, I don't know how any family survives, much less a mother watching her son battle something internally in his mind.
Please if you can take a few moments as a mom-leader to view the site and my family walk page I would so appreciate your time. If you can find it in these tough economic times to even donate $1 it will go to better use than you can imagine.
Without this organization..I would be alone. I would not have the resources to educate myself so I can not only help my son, myself, but my husband and 2 babies (Emma 2y & Jake 1y).
We are going all together to do this walk. It is what I asked for as my "Mother's Day" gift. We are the "new" kids on the block. I did meet my goal..but to double it would just make all the difference to me.
Again, thank you again in advance for taking a few moments. I pray you never endure my path..but if you do..I am here to help and remind anyone struggling that you are not alone!!
