Two years ago I was a wife, and mom, with 2 kids in daycare, working full time, stressed out, and having a hard time balancing work and family life.

Anyone who has ever placed their children in daycare knows for the first few months they will contract every disgusting virus known to man. Daycare policy is that sick children must stay home (at the parents’ expense), and they would call every time your child had a sniffle, saying he had a fever and couldn’t return until he was fever free for 24 hrs. All my family lives too far away to help out, and my husband is a construction foreman. He can’t just walk off the job and leave his crew unsupervised, so it was always up to me to leave work and take care of my family. I love my kids, and I loved my job. As a dedicated, hard worker, who never took vacation, or time off for any reason, I found this very stressful, and would cringe every time my phone rang.

I burned out. I felt that I had no options, and so I made the tough decision to quit my job and stay home with my children.

If anyone has had a similar experience, please share your story.
